Which engine would you choose?

Looking at 5XXX JD Tractors. Of these engines which would you choose/avoid? 5320 3 cyl turbo, 5420 4 cyl, 5425 4 cyl turbo, 5325 5 cyl turbo.

Was the 3 cyl turbo discontinued because of problems? Or is it now in the smaller 50X5E series?

Wet sleeve vs dry, any thoughts?

I prefer the higher number of cylinders but would definitely wan't the wet sleeve design. The wet sleeved motors mean you can replace the sleeves (or liners with piston and rings) and renew the motor. The dry sleeved engines are cheaper in most cases.

I prefer planetary final drives which start with the 4000 series and up, and wet sleeved motors which start with the 5000 series today. The older tractors such as my 820 had planetary final drives and wet sleeves even though it is a much lower hp tractor.

I think if you do some digging on the 5-cylinder, there's some disappointment with the fuel usage.

Haven't read anything negative about performance or longevity, though.
