OK, so I'm doing my research for my next machine. I'm trying to decide which backhoe I should get with a B3030.

Has anyone put a Woods BH80X backhoe on a B3030 yet? The Kubota BH75 specs out right between the Woods BH70X and BH80X. Two things I really like about the Woods hoes are the curved boom and the thumb option. I was really leaning toward the Woods BH80X, but the dealer mentioned that he thought that hoe might be a bit much for the 3030. As much as I'd like the thumb, if it were to come down to the BH70X vs the BH75, I'd have a tougher time deciding, because the BH75 is a bit bigger and more powerful.

The dealer also recommended the aux. hyd. pump kit if I went with one of the Woods hoes. - Would the pump kit really make that big of a difference in performance over tapping into the tractor hydraulics? I think, although he quoted an $1150 charge for adding rear remotes, it makes sense to have the remotes for other potential future needs. Even if I were to have the rear remotes installed, would it benefit me at all to go ahead and get the Woods pump kit for performance reasons?

I may not be totally following your discussion regarding the rear remotes. The BH75 does not run off the B3030 rear remote option. It is driven from a hydraulic feed located at/near the rear of the tractor. I believe this hydraulic port is standard with the tractor, unless the cost is buried in the cost of the BH75.

I have been more than happy with the performance of the BH75. Speed and break away force seem well matched to the tractor (power and weight). I agree the thumb would be nice to have.

That's interesting - I was under the impression that you needed to add rear remotes for any hydraulic rear implement. However, according to this particular dealer, I would need to add the rear remotes to use the tractor hydraulics with the Woods hoe.

I guess what I'm wondering about your statement is whether or not the B3030 comes with the hydraulic fittings like the BX22/23 have - I wouldn't think that would be the case, since it isn't sold as a 'TLB'. I guess I need to go take a close look at a B3030 or 2630 on the lot and see what I can find.

Sounds like there aren't too many B3030 owners who've looked into the BH75 vs the 2 new Woods hoes. I've only seen TBNers with B2630 & B3030 with BH75 backhoes, so I may not get much help here.

The hydraulic feed is not standard with tractor, only when BH is installed...atleast that has been the case with the two Kubotas I've had (B7500, L2800).

Looking through the Kubota B series specs it looks like the front and rear hydraulic outlets are standard on the B3030 and on the B7510DTN tractors, front outlet only on the remaining B7500s and the B7800. So that would seem to agree with your thoughts for the B7800.

It looks like the quick disconnects, hoses and fittings for the BH75 connection to the tractor hydraulics must come with the BH. But you don't need the rear remotes installed to use the BH75. When I get a chance I'll look at the assembly documents for the BH75 that I got from the dealer. It should show what comes with the BH.

Depends on what you mean by "rear remotes standard". NEITHER front OR rear are "standard"...because whichever is included in the costs of any attachment. I have front..because I bought mine with an FEL... It has no "rear". The costs of adding rear ( a simple plate removeal and adding the "kit" was quoted me at $550.)

Ive checked into the backhoes and ..for me..I want the PTO driven model to keep the HYD systems SEPERATE..and the PTO pump is right at $150 MORE than the rear hyd system setup.

Since on mine ( this is a future purchase for me) I'll be running a LOT MORE hours on the rest of the tractor than the BH will ever see...I dont need to be swapping out ALL the fuild each time..which I would have to do if the systems were connected.

EDIT: I said loaders..and mean backhoes.

Did you mean to say you've checked into the BACKHOES, rather than loaders, and that you'd rather have the separate PTO driven hyd pump for the backhoe? That way, you're changing tractor hyd fluid, and backhoe hyd fluid separately. How much hyd fluid does the Woods hoe hold, how much does the B3030 with FEL hold, and how much does the B3030 with FEL and Kub BH75 hold?

The BH75 Kubota Backhoe and subframe comes with the proper hyd lines for the backhoe (they are not a hyd remote valve) The Woods Backhoes are designed as fit-alls, they do make a wonderful backhoe, but the fit to the tractor is not always the nicest for everyones taste. The BH75 in my opinion dismounts easier and fits much closer to the machine, you do hower need to remove the 3point parts for the Kubota Hoe. 3point mounted hoes are good provided you take the time to check your adjustments on a regular basis, if you don't you will break pieces. As far as pricing goes the two will be really close, but the Woods hoe will take longer to install
Hope this Helps

I assume you have a loader on your B3030. I agree with your dealer, even though Woods has the B3030 listed to install the BH80, I too think it's too big for the tractor. Also, go with the PTO pump, you'll be satisfied with the results. The pump puts out 6GPM and the tractor is rated @5.2 gpm. Doesn't seem that much, but the PTO pump is dedicated to the backhoe.

IMHO..100% correct all the way around.
