Well, if your friend has one of those, I'll bet he has some other neat stuff too.

Re: What\'s in your tool box? What do you actually use?

so far only thing that I regulary carry is my Machette: which I drop down between the Hyd Hoses and knife tip slips between the FEL Bracket and the FEL. the Hoses hold it steady and it only rattles a bit... i don't have a tool box but I DO have a FEL bucket which gets most anything I'm planning on using tossed into it. chainsaws, chains, axes ect.. Only real problem is forgetting WHAT is in there and attempting to PUSH somethign out of the way with it full /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif don't ask me how I know /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

I HAVE been thinking about a way to carry the Shovel/Rake attached somehow to the ROPS. I was thinking one of those little rubber cam actuated jobbies and simply bolt it to one of hte open holes for the canopy mount. and then a small hunk of Square Tube (aluminum) for the other end to slip into... I've already ran over one rake, (handle only luckly) but I really don't have any TOOLS on there for working on the tractor as it's only 3 yrs old with 300 hrs... every thing keeps a ticking!

Re: What\'s in your tool box? What do you actually use?

I keep a crescent wrench, can of WD-40, and 2 rags in the hinged compartment in the fender -- other stuff goes in the loader bucket as needed (chain saw, etc.) for "remote" work. Oh yeah -- hammer in the barn!!! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Re: What\'s in your tool box? What do you actually use?

I only have a little bitty toolbox under the seat of my 2710. I keep a crescent wrench, pliers, and big screwdriver in there, mostly what I use for changing implements.

Re: What\'s in your tool box? What do you actually use?

There are a few tools that I seem to use constantly:

- L-shaped lug wrench (mostly use it as a prybar)
- 3lb sledge hammer
- claw hammer
- 18" crescent wrench
- large vicegrip
- channel pliers
- large combo screwdriver (4 different bits)
- hex key set
- bottle opener

I also keep a bag of 'accessories' in the cab including:
- Wasp/Hornet foaming spray
- WD-40
- rags
- work gloves
- plastic garbage bags
- beer

Re: What\'s in your tool box? What do you actually use?

I have a bag hanging from the fuel cap that is stashed behind the seat. It's basically a shear bolt replacement kit: 1 screwdriver; one 16 mm wrench; 1 pair channel-locks; 1 hammer to punch out stubborn bolts, a sack of shear bolts; spare linch and cotter pins. Lately I've taken to keeping a less-than-razor sharp machete in there as well for polk weeds along fencelines. That's really all I need, so far.

Re: What\'s in your tool box? What do you actually use?

I mounted a toolbox to my ROPS with a couple of U-Bolts and a bit of angle.
In it I have
> hammer for persuading 3pt implements on and off,
> pair of fencing pliers and U-Nails for fixing the fence after the dang 4-wheelers go through -- again,
> grade 2 bolts and 1/2" wrench for the snowblower shear pins,
> lynch pins, grease zerks, spare fuses and misc bits or wire etc., just in case
> about 8' of 3/8" rope for tying brush onto the trailer, towing etc.,
> chainsaw file and flat file,
> adjustable wrench, screwdrivers and a complete set of metric tools(i.e. a pair of vise grips)
> first aid kit.
> misc other things that got in there and never came out.

I also have a shovel bungeed on top of my loader arm, a pair of ear protectors on my head or hanging off my rear lights, and a bungee on the deck to tuck my gloves under so I don't lose them.

After last weekend, I'm now looking for a place to store a spare gallon of diesel /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif
