Sausage gravy this morning. I have a recipe that I replace 1/3 of the milk with chicken broth (I use a chicken bullion paste). I also use hot pepper flakes and I have a special seasoning that I made for grilling and Traeger Blackened Saskatchewan rub (I use it on Trager Blackened Sask. eggs, baked potatoes etc.)

Smoking some country style ribs on the Traeger.

Fathers day gift idea for grillers/smokers/cooks. With a wireless meat thermometer, I can sit in my recliner, work in the yard or garage etc. and monitor meat temps. The thing will pay for itself in no time in meat that doesn't get under/over cooked. It can take up to 4 probes. NEVER soak the probes in water, ruins them. Ask me how I know. Just wipe them off with wash rag with soap and water.

So I was experimenting with BBQ sauce today. The one my wife and I both liked the best was as follows:

1. 1 Part Stubbs Hickory Bourbon sauce
2. 2 Parts regular coke
3. 2 Tbsp. of pure maple syrup for every 6 oz. of Stubbs
( So first batch I did 6oz. Stubbs, 12oz coke and two or three tablespoons of pure maple syrup).
4. Reduce on the stove at a strong simmer for 20 minutes. Stir regularly. I just stirred it while I was cleaning up the kitchen.

It is still a little thin and you could reduce it longer if you want but the flavor is amazing. I did a large batch after I tried the first batch. You could probably also reduce this in a small crock pot it would just take longer.

Oh, I am sure Haggis is an acquired taste. I just don't think I could get myself to take a bite.

Look at it this way..... The less Haggis I eat, the more there is for you to eat.

I did a big stir fry on the griddle, the country style pork ribs (Actually part of the pork butt) from yesterday's cook and a couple of Top round roasts I got on sale. I think we are set for the week. We will eat it all week.

Cold and miserable out with an ice storm coming through. Decided yesterday, I wanted comfort food. So I prepped a pot of chili last night and through it in the crock pot this morning before I left for work.

Just pulled a pan of corn bread out of the oven.
