I left my John Deere 4720 in a hayfield for two months. Now I have three problems with it. The starter ground wires have been chewed through completely, the PTO pigtail has been chewed through completely , and the upper radiator hose has been chewed through and now leaks.

I also see this hose but not sure where it should go. I don’t think it would just be open. It looks like a vent or pcv

Any ideas?

crankcase vent tube possibly

See if it has one end connected to the valve cover. If it does then the open end likely connects to the air intake system so as to burn off any crankcase vapors. Look for a nipple that is also open.

Looks like it had a clamp on it at one time. So it goes to something.

You're right. Looks like there was a clamp on. Just figure the length of it and see where it could reach.
To me, the whole situation seems like you have plenty of friends. Are you sure the hoses are "chewed" through?

I’m really beside myself. I’m getting an ERR202 error message. This seems to be inlet air temperature out of range. I traced the wires of what I believe the IAT to be, on top of the airbox. Sure enough, they were cut also. I’ve done the best I can to reconnect them but I’m still getting the code. I am 99% sure my connection is OK. But still?

I’m going to have a heckuva time reconnecting the green wire on the back of the alternator. I don’t know what that little gizmo is. Does anyone? I googled the part number and it’s sort sort of electrical widget.

Does anyone know where to go to? Maybe the IAT, although it’s a different color? Makes no sense.

I believe that's the tachometer wire, I have a PDF of the tech manual if you want to look through it

It looks like the #RE520163a relates to the type of connector they use. There should be a way to unclip that connector from the back of the alternator....maybe a small screwdriver in the slot on the end? Don't force anything....you just need to find how it clips on. I think it is just a fancy anti-vibe connector Bosch uses.

Tach seems to work fine. Thanks for everything.
