I have an AGM battery in my Hustler Raptor X lawn mower that needs charging. I've been told that a normal battery charger (Schumacher SC-600A) can't be used. What battery charger are you using for AGM batteries? Also, the battery in my Kioti DK4510 is getting weak, and I'm thinking of replacing it with an AGM battery. Any suggestions and/or issues?

This does it just fine for AGM. And its not mentioned, yet it does lithium too on the 2Amp charge setting!

Old school, transformer based (got to be 40 years old) .... Pushes battery up to 16.5 volts (long float charge) .... Use it on my AGMs and Lead Acids.... And for electrolysis rust removing.... New microprocessor chargers sometimes won't start a charge if battery is to low, and you have to jump start charger with good battery... Owners manual that comes with ODYSEEY AGM batteries state not to go over 15 volt or the will "off gas"... Suggest you look up brand and size/type of your battery and see if there are charging instructions or precautions, no to just go with what "someone" tells you....

See starting at page 10 for charging instructions for ODYSEEY AGMS...

I use Battery Minders for golf cart batteries (48v), tractor, mowers, and vehicles. I have an 8 amp Battery Minder for quicker charging, and multiple 2 amp maintainers.
They are a little pricey, particularly for the 12v 8 amp and 48v 3 amp chargers.

Big John Deere on wheels. Thing is a beast. Never fails, even on double & triple batteries.

Like everyone says about any kind will work. But some of them could be damaging also, and short life that agm battery. Cells being sealed inside makes it difficult to dissipate heat r charges from the charging process. So agm batteries should be charged at a slower rate than conventional lead acid type batteries. I get good service from agm batteries and so far no leakage or corrosion at the terminals. Good luck with you charge sir.

Ditto on the NOCO chargers. Very compact and foolproof. You can let anyone use it and not worry about connecting wrong. Simple display. Handy little bag to carry everything if you like.

The battery clamps are very well made and clamp on securely. I have a NOCO 10 and one of their Boost/Jump Starters too. (It doubles as a pretty handy power supply for charging phones and tablets and basically anything that uses USB to charge.)

Amazon will have it to you next day probably.

No digital display showing voltage, so I think everyone also needs a multi-meter so they can check and troubleshoot in addition to their charger.

AGM batteries have the same charging profile as flooded lead acid (FLA) batteries so any charger will work. AGM batteries differ from FLA mostly in that glass mats (the GM in AGM) are sandwiched between the lead plates which prevent the plates from shorting against each other if conditions cause the plates to warp. AGM also is vented through a pressure release mechanism (VRLA), rather than the open vent FLA employs.

To answer your question, Victor chargers stand above the crowd in my opinion. I have 9 batteries of all types (FLA, AGM, LiFePO4) on charger tenders at this moment. The Bluetooth feature displays SOC of any/all batteries at a glance on a smart device.

Another vote for NOCO, they have settings for almost every type of battery, you can catch them on sale as said above at Amazon, I have caught them on sale at Academy Sports also in the fishing area. Very well built product

Pricey but this one is the bomb. If it reconditions one nearly lost battery you recoup a lot of the initial expense. I have 2 models of CTEK chargers. These little guys out perform my floor models.

AGM charges slower to a lower voltage than LA batteries. Charging AGM on LA settings with shorten the useful life of the AGM battery

Have a Noco Genius 10 and 2 amp models. Those take care of all my battery charging and maintaining needs.

Primarily BatteryMINDer and PulseTech maintainers for plugged-in use, and mostly Sun Energise 10 to 25W panels for vehicles that aren't near a 110V source.

Either way, what I use has desulfation. If not, like the solar panels, stand alone units by Canadus or PulseTech are used.

I bought my first Noco, a 750 as I needed a very small charger for a new dirt bike. I was so impressed that I've bought two more 1 amp models. Very happy with them and yes, they will charge a group 27, if you are not in a hurry

Any properly functioning charger will be perfectly fine for intermittently charging that battery.
I guarantee you, that your relatively primitive charging system on your Kawasaki, that charges it every day you use it, is doing absolutely nothing special about optimization of AGM charging curve preference.

My big Challenger 655E has a solar battery charging panel built into the roof of the tractor cab. All tractors should have that

I highly recommend a charger that’s desulfurization capable, I have a tractor that a battery never lasted more than 5 years but after I started using charger with desulfurization the battery life doubled

My M6040 very rarely gets charged other than from using it, and last winter it sat for about six months. I put a Canadus desulfator on it right after buying it in early '10 and it's still on its original battery.

The L3800 gets used very frequently so it never sees a maintainer, but occasionally I connect a Canadus to it for a week or two. It's also on the original '13 battery.

Recently I've started to install PulseTech desulfators more or less permanently on several batteries. and drawing a mere 10mA they don't seem to require any more frequent charging/maintaining than they did without.
