Assuming battery but thought I'd ask the experts

The battery cable seemed faintly loose and was rusted quite a bit. Brushed it with a brass brush and got good clean metal on the cable, nut and washer and tightiened it all down and then took that whole assemble and retightened to the battery post and vrooom off we go.
Good job! Many would just assume the battery was bad and buy a new one. In the replacement process, they would clean the cable terminals and everything would work great afterward. They would be happy campers never knowing they just blew $100 or more for nothing. BUT, if that battery is 4 years old, you may be about to experience Murphy's 3rd law: If something is going to fail, it will fail at the absolute most inconvenient time.

If I were the OP I’d check the injector pump and put in new injectors. I joke because the op fixed it a few days ago, loose cable.

"Tried to jump start it from truck and no luck...."

If your truck engine was running and producing 13+ volts and whatever amperage your alternator is rated at........the tractor should have turned over........unless the ground connections at the battery/starter are corroded/loose.

Yes, check the battery, but check/clean your ground wires.
Sounds like you hit it on the ground connection, on the frame as well as the battery

you gots that right. the AGM battery on my F150 was about $300.

i buy lots of group26 batteries every year for business. ill get 10-20 delivered at a time. i can get quite a markdown having them delivered compared to stores. but they didnt handle the AGM size i needed.
