I have a Hobart 210 mig welder with a generator. I am building a perimeter fence and using oil field pipe and sucker rods on the corners. If I use flux core wire (.35), do you think this will work without it breaking continuously? Don't really want to break down and buy a gas powered stick welder. Thanks.

As long as generator has capacity to handle the initial surge loads when you first strike arc there should be no problems.... HOBART recommends a generator with about 50% more watt ratings the what welder actually draws..... This keeps generator from bogging down every time you strike arc....

What oil field pipe are you using? 2 and 7/8th pipe and sucker rod sure can be magnetized but maybe you know that.
