Welding Jacket

What do you use? I just found 4 pinholes in a new $20 lands end pocket t-shirt. I'm thinking a welding jacket would be cheaper than a few more ruined shirts.

20 years ago the guys at work wore a canvas material that covered their arms, shoulders, chest and midsection. The back was open to help keep the production weldors a little cooler in the summer.

I can't find anything like that online. Is something like that still available or is there something even better than the 20 year old technology I am used to?

I have found Black Stallion products to be reasonably priced and hold up for hobbie type use.

This is what I buy from my LWS when on sale for about $20. They last me 3 or 4 years before I get charged for vagrancy if I forget to change before grocery shopping.

This is what I started using after ruining some clothes and catching a old jacket on fire. Air-Gas in town carries them. Same idea as Big Barn's Miller jacket.

That's what I am finding, lots of styles of jackets with different weights and fabrics but nothing with an open back.

I'm not even sure if what I am describing is even called a jacket.

Success, it is called a cape, sleeve with bib.

Searching for an affordable one........

Me too... not sure if this is exactly like mine but I like the light weight and they are pretty comfortable.

I used the sleeved welding cape shown in the above pic to built my metal shed,, way over 50 pounds of welding rods,, IIRC
the cape was comfortable for summer work,, amazingly,,,
