Thinking about using elect. tape to seal the pressure switch to keep the ants off of it. Is this a good idea or does it produce to much heat? What do you do to keep the ants off the contacts ?

My guess is it wouldnt be a problem..I cant imagine much heat from it.If there was then id think that t wold have vents to it.
I agree some spray should fix the problem..maybe an ant trap next to it also.
Hopefully an electrician will weigh in.

I did that with one about 35 or so years ago. Lived there for another 25 years without a problem with it.

I did that years ago on mine to keep earwigs off of it. No probs. There is not enough resistance in the switch to generate any heat to speak of.

Thanks guys, I am going to tape it up. They cost less than $20.00 anyway.
