URGENT tow drop hook

i have a tractor ford4630.
i cant work out how to drop the hook at the rear,cant find a control?
can you help

Buy a manual for it, it will show you every thing you need to know.

I'm guessing its a European style implement hitch, their not used in North America so most of us won't be much help.

They tow trailers on the roads over there.

But I don't know anything about the hitch, other than it is independent of the 3 point.

I looked at a JD years ago when they were flooding the market with used European tractors. It had a mechanical tow hook that blocked the PTO when 'UP'. Didn't buy because of available parts, think that was why it was for sell. They seemed anxious to negotiate on it.

well... if it is a hyd lift hook.. then it has a hyd cyl on it. if it has a cyl on it. follow the hose! The Hose HAS to go to a control valve SOMEWHERE!

I believe it is called a "clevis hitch",a common european tractor quick release hitch. But I don't know where the controls are.

many thanks all,it is a european model and it is different to the US models,we have a hook for towing trailers just below the drive shaft.
ive got it sorted ,a cable from the cab just behind the drivers seat to the right was missing.

The hitch you are referring to is a pick up hitch, the hitch picks the trailer tongue up, they are extremely popular in the UK and are non existent in the USA. Some of these where actuated off of the rear three point of the tractor, when the 3pt was down the hitch was also down. However you could disconnect the hitch and pin it up, perhaps yours needs connected to the rock shaft on the 3 point? Other units used a separate hydraulic cylinder and valve to control the hitch, however this was more common on the larger tractors.

Sportsman your smack on,we have a seperate cylinder on ours,got it working .
