I don't believe anyone mentioned pulling it to start it. We are just talking about towing around to winch it on my trailer.
If it does it won’t pick up nothing newer than Conway Twitty or Loretta Lynn. Thanks for the photos. I remember Uncle Woody's came with a 8 track player and CB radio. Not sure about am or fm.
It was the way I read post number 59. Obviously I took it the wrong way.I don't believe anyone mentioned pulling it to start it. We are just talking about towing around to winch it on my trailer.
Have a collection of 3 stacked there. One punctured a tire while plowing.Nice shed on the radio
Wish it wasn't sitting in the grass the way it is. Needs a inner loaded dual tire repair and have not called it in yet. Doesn't do much anymore except for round bale wagon and moving wagons around home. One of the best tractors for backing up wagons but way overkill hp wise lolNice working tractor, but myself I'd prefer the IH visible out the windshield.
Loaded yes. Duals your thinking the wrong way. Larger foot print less compaction. No duals or loaded tires here, way too much compaction for forage ground, especially on the sandy loam here.
Conway or Loretta is fine with me. Lots of this new fangled country "music" is just rap to me.If it does it won’t pick up nothing newer than Conway Twitty or Loretta Lynn.
Can’t wait to see before and after when this thing sucks you in and you spring for the cab kit and get it lined out. Great aftermarket for these since the cabs were pretty much the same for decades
After rereading post #59, I can see how it can be misleading. It was the way I read post number 59. Obviously I took it the wrong way.
What goes in the hole in the dash?
1586What goes in the hole in the dash?
Also, what model is the International? I almost pulled the trigger on a 856, years ago.
The cab kits do make an older tractor much nicer to be in, quieter and more comfortable.Conway or Loretta is fine with me. Lots of this new fangled country "music" is just rap to me.
I was just gonna remove the interior, scrub it all and paint it, but .......Now, whatever happens in the cab is your fault. After your post, I found this website... Complete Cab Kit for John Deere Early 30 Series 4030 4230 4430 4630 Again, it's all your fault, Dusty3030.![]()
I would expect it used R12. It can be converted over to 134 after flushing the system and compressor, changing the oil and replacing the receiver/dryer.What freon was used in it and what do you use today?
An example of how plugged the radiator and the oil cooler can get. The 4040 is original to the farm. Growing up with it it always ran in a certain temperature range even not doing anything. It was normal, not hot. After I quit farming went to work in a factory, built a shop and had money and little more time I started to take a different approach on maintenance. And one of the things I did was slide cooler out and give a good intensive cleaning and to say it was plugged was an understatement. Straightened some fins. I had never seen that tractor run so cool. No load and barely came off cold and when under load all day stayed well below where it normally ran. It was worth the effort.I plan on pulling the whole interior and clean/paint or replace. While out, everything will get a rodent eaten wire inspection. Didn't think about pulling all the tin, but it is a sound idea. Back flushing the oil cooler is a great idea. Cleaning out the radiator is good idea also.
I have planned on all new filters and fluids. This is standard on any used machine I buy.
