I know from my own & my wife's history that we habitually abuse MMM's. She actually drove our garden tractor over of two stumps - bent the deck in the center so that the blade-spindles were crooked. The decks were frequently used a instant-stop devices. Catch the edge of the sidewalk with the deck and your forward motion is instantly stopped.
When it was time for a CUT, the MMM construction was critical. 7-gauge steel was required. I removed the chute & had the chute opening on the deck reinforced. So far I've trimmed stumps (mostly small ones), painted rocks (blue) & used the deck as a brake (unintentional of course) and I leave it on for FEL work.
