Trailer tires

There are speed rated trailer tires now. Power King is one with an "L" rating yielding 75mph.

I have taskmaster trailer tires on my equipment trailer and they are rated for 81mph.

My truck finally gets rolling good at 62-64 where it doesn't want to downshift. If I can't drive all day at 73 on the interstate or whatever the flow of traffic dictates, I would see about a different tire.

Got me on that one... Ha.

Good point about the truck being 'in the power'. My 6-speed manual truck is really happy at 70 mph.

This is very true.

I have Hartland tires with a speed rating 'N' which is 87 mph. Of course there is a weight and air pressure spec that goes along with that speed rating.

These tires allow me to maintain posted speed and not be a ROAD HAZARD because I have to travel slow due to trailer tires.

My Maxxis tires are speed rated. Can't remember the rating and I'm not at home now.

Buy good stuff and use it - that's my plan.

The 4 Carlisle Sure Trail ST on my 7x14 landscape trailer are like new. No crack/s in the sidewalls and no problems. They're old, quite old actually and where made in the USA back in 1978. Trailer sits in my shop and is out of the elements at all times unless it's in use, but isn't being used very much anymore. If one blows, they'll get replaced. Otherwise they stay.

We can't get any trailer tires around here that aren't made in China. Just have to live with replacing them frequently or using truck tires.

You better savor those and keep them out of the sun and don't ever let them go. The newer Carlisle tires are like all the rest GARBAGE.
we got the radials 5 years back and they started cracking within a year or so. Last I knew the radials thumbdown: which I know are junk) are made in China. The bias are made in the US and how they perform I can't say.
