Anyone looking for a budget friendly quick hitch, check out this one i just bought from Tractor Supply.
Just ordered mine. Can't beat the price for a Cat I. I hope it's as good as the Speeco E-Hitch (per its reputation). Reviews were strong, though more than a few said some or all of the connections were too thick or off by 1/4". Crossing my fingers.Anyone looking for a budget friendly quick hitch, check out this one i just bought from Tractor Supply.
Tractor Supply Tool Tuff Quick HitchI don't see it listed on the TSC website.
The video guy talks about the latch handles being bent down, that's just the handles mounted improperly. Turn them over and the curve is up to prevent pinching fingers.
I investigated these quick hitches and compared measurements to my CAT 1 equipment. I only have 2 attachments that will match up to a quick hitch without changing something.
I did this also with a HF QH. I don't use it a lot but it gives you great lift range with a boom pole and it's nice to back up trailers driving forward. At that price, would be good to buy one and add JD hooks/pins or a QA and make a loader-mounted quick hitch. When I bought my HF QH many years ago for this project, they were really cheap, like $69 or something.
I use it a lot with the carryall on the front and to move around 3-point equipment. Yes, great for moving trailers.I did this also with a HF QH. I don't use it a lot but it gives you great lift range with a boom pole and it's nice to back up trailers driving forward.
If I remember correctly, I had to do some modification on that top hook to get it to work for my stuff too. Still, for the money, I didn't mind hacking on it a little. For the additional $20 this is a better buy compared to HF's version. Note how its hook is outside the uprights where the bolts are. HF is still selling QH's where the hook opening is flush with those uprights - interfering with nearly anything you want to mount.
I finally added a Speeco offset hook to make my HF QH more usable.

So far so good. I only have 2 attachments - an old beat up used brush hog, brand unknown, and a Titan land plane. How are you liking it? I've got Pat's and while I like them well enough I still have to get off to unhook the hydraulic top-link, a rather heavy piece of work. A standard quick-hitch would stay attached to it, and that ought to be nice.
I, for now, have no PTO implements and so that wouldn't be a problem.
Perhaps, but there are a couple on implements where the hook just wouldn't fit, unless I machine it down quite a bit. And that still wouldn't help with the different heights.Using pins instead of bolts will help with that some.
