I like to see the same people at my bank, grocery store, clothing store, TSC, places I eat often, car wash, etc. I like to know some of them.
Well said. Maybe it has to do with growing up in a small town where you get to know everyone, but I'm a relationship guy and enjoy the people part.
In stock merchandise with friendly and competent staff. I'll go there and keep coming back. Too much goes to Amazon anyway and they sure don't know me from the next customer number. So if I can find what I need downtown, granted a small city/town of 11k, I'll go downtown.
So it actually does bother me when I go into the TSC and I don't recognize anyone. Not one person, every single employee is different.
Am wondering if their compensation package is causing them to lose employees. Lot of competition for workers, though retail as an industry sure isn't doing all that well.
they want you there if they need help.
Absolutely. I go into Lowes and Staff averts their eyes so they don't have to make eye contact and gosh, you might have to help someone....
Remember when Home Depot had those big red buttons at the end of the aisles where you could call for help?\
I thought that was the very best idea ever. And here they cut it out, probably too expensive...
The quality of customer service is part of what is driving online sales in my opinion.
Smart businesses know they have to add value, not just open their doors.
