Maybe not with you. To a lot of people the relationship with employees or owners of places one frequently goes is important.
I like to see the same people at my bank, grocery store, clothing store, TSC, places I eat often, car wash, etc. I like to know some of them.
When I step through the door at a certain cafe in downtown Corpus Christi the waiter I have known for years pours me a cup of coffee and sits it at my regular table. He brings me the same order every time.
I don't think I know anyone who looks at it the way you say you do.

It is like that with me... come in and my drink is set and order placed without asking...
Went grocery shopping after church this morning with Mom in tow... as we get out the homeless greeted me... as in we all know each other... the cashiers knows me as does the baker...
I work a stone's throw away and the homeless that greeted me are often the same ones I have to wake up at 4:30 in the morning so I can get the Surgery Waiting room doors open for business.
As we were leaving the Oakland Coliseum Commissioner was driving in and waved...
Mom kept saying how to you know all these people... I said I do get around and friendly to all... especially the homeless population because I can't be at work 24/7 and one of our managers really ticked off a few and there was a huge uptick in problems... broken windows, bottles, etc...
I simply outline the facts... we are open for business so time to get up and out...
Police have little time for any of this... reality of the times.
I find the employees that have been around for a long time invaluable to get me in and out... and they appreciate a friendly face as much as the next person...
The local JC Penney has one sales person in the Men's Wear department... 25 years and I swear he remembers every customer even the ones that shop once a year... they would be well if they could clone a thousand of him... the service is outstanding... tell him what you are looking for... trip, business, vacation and he brings a selection with sale items forefront... and this is JC Penney.
I know people that have moved and still come back so shop with him...
Medicare has a random survey sent out to patients... it is a huge deal if you are a Health Care provider... one of the areas is Check-In/Admitting... we had a lot of turnover at the front desk and some security issues and our numbers showed it... so Admin asks if I could help out from 5 am to 9 am... and use the front desk as my desk for reports and calls...
In 3 months the numbers went from 78 to 98.7 satisfaction.... it was all about being there for the patient and building a repour... having me around also freed up the clerks to they could exclusively concentrate on the patient they were helping...
We went from the lowest to highest and other sister facilities wanted to know how... my CEO said it changed when the Chief Engineer started spending time at Patient Intake...
