Tow chain anchor points

Has anyone added clevis hitches to the front axle to help with attaching tow chains instead of wrapping them around the axle and scratching the paint to pieces? I bought a 1/2" (too big) and 3/8" (too small). I'm thinking about ordering some 7/16" for the front axle. They are rated 3000lbs each. If I'm using 2 of them, would that be ok just to secure the front of the tractor? I would be using 4 anchor points total.

I don't think I'd add clevis points to the front axle at all. The frame would be a much better choice and likely easier and more appropriate material for welding into the bargain.

I typically use the axle straps also, they work great. I've used them on anything from atv's, lawn mowers, my tractor, vechicles, etc. They are pretty handy to have when there isn't a good point to secure to.

Axel Straps

I've also found that 24" is best for my application. Yours may be different but be sure to get them long enough.

I think those are lift points for the axle assembly in the factory or replacing, not tie down points.
