Tires tire repair

I'm hoping someone has a suggestion for me.

One of my front tires (on 3510) has gotten a pretty good size cut into it - fairly deep, though the tire is not losing air. (Don't know when it happened - likely when we were pulling down the walls of an old house we were dismantling.)

I am thinking there should be something I can put into this cut that will set up to a consistency similar to the tire rubber and help prevent dirt, sticks, whatever from poking into the cut and doing more damage. Any suggestions?

It the cut in one of the treads or into the skin of the tire? I have never heard of anything designed to do something like that. Maybe fill the cut with a good latex adhesive type chalk and let set up before using the tractor. The chalk would remain somewhat flexable once it has set up. Or a automotive adhesive type sealer. But it is a very interesting question. Some one may have the solution to your question. It will be interesting to hear what they are.

I have the same gouges in my tire(s), I have TITAN tires on my tractor. Don"t have a answer for you but I too would be interested if someone does.
If you post the same question in the parts/repair forum you might get a larger viewing from all TBN members

Nope. I have never seen anything to fill the outside rubber on a tire.

Only thing I can think of is fill the fronts with foam.

Interesting question and the answer is ..... I've never heard of anything but it's such a common problem you'd think that somebody would make something.

If you think it might be a problem I suppose you could head trouble off by installing a rubber boot on the inside, behind the gouge, install a tube and fill it with Slime. I think that would make it as good as your going to get.

I gouged one of my rear tires on a wire fence panel. I thought the same as you. I went to the auto parts store and found a small tube of rubber adheasive. It is an orange tube and the sealant is black. I filled in the gouge and it needed filling again in about a week. Now it is good to go. It is the color of black tire so it is even hard to find.. I can look in garage and see if I can find it if you need me too.... I think though that if you just go to the Auto parts store and see what all they offer you will find something similar....
