I wonder what happened to the old criminal defense lawyer tactic to defend a shooter of a criminal that his client should be found not guilty because the deceased was such a bad character that “ he needed killing”.

I’ve actually seen that tactic successfully used.

ALIVE AND WELL. Kind of sounds like, any law is worth breaking or ignoring to get the unwanted gone.

Sorry I didn't explain in detail enough so Industrial would understand. The hot wire I used 10 gauge. The glass fuse I took apart replacing element with a solid copper wire.
Switch modified so it latched when turned on, which also sends 12V to speakers.
Smoke bomb? Never heard if an igniter?
Sheesh!
Now about getting in trouble. I'd love to see that one! Bozo steals it from me, sells it to Brozo for drug money or booze. Brozo installs it or resells it. Now backtrack the sale to Bozo, who got it from...where?...how?
Oh, I see, Bozo pays an attorney to sue the guy he stole it from...the guy who "modified"
it (prove it).
We've never had packages stolen either.
Wonder why?

Sorry, I can't leave it alone. lol And you don't think the circuit they connect it to would be moderately fused? And if it's shorted, you can't also send 12 volt to the speakers.

IGNITER? What's that? Like an old X-Mas bulb, carefuly broken, not to damage the filament?

Sorry again Industrial...
We'll discuss it at length when your meds kick in ().
Remember I said "years ago"... that's as in the 10W - 20W/ channel days.
Soooooo you have essentially a 10 gauge wire going to a 12v source (in process of cookingthe speakers), switched to ground. Until the source fuse blows (milliseconds?) you have 12v going to those speakers that won't handle 80+ watts.
Regardless of damage caused, it caused trouble for someone.
If you don't want to believe it, that's okay with me!

Putting a CURSE on the device, would be just as effective. 👹

Combined, four speakers?, would be 2 ohm, @ 13.8 volts, = 6.9 amps, BUT the circuit was supposedly SHORTED to DESTROY the car wiring.
So the bumpers wouldn't fall off.... Four speakers won't be OEM wired in parallel & it's the amp & tuner that normally use the input power. Speakers don't handle DC well & if wired in parallel as suggested they could see 12v DC at up to whatever amps the radio fuse will pass. They'd burn out far short of blowing the fuse.

IIRC our guy did some re-wiring internally way back. No argument that 7a won't hurt much of the cars o'all wiring, but some would think ruining all four speakers was bad enough. btw, does your VOM have a db scale? Note that typical peaks are ~ 3v AC and that speaker current is also small compared 12v at several amps.

That usually works better for fixing the governments of other countries. Depends on experience. Some guys just wire outlets. Some of us have been repairing electronics since CB radio only had 23 channels.

That was a far away wish! I had ones with Three Channels, and was hard pressed to come up with the money for the other two channels (four X-Tals) ! And which channel ?????

Don't even get me started on trying to build a 1/4 wave ground plane with ski poles!
