Re: They just keep comin\' ....
LOL @ junkman: also bought a new set of luggage! hahaha
as for DAP's mater prob, well we got BEAN probs, must have 40+ good qts jars full all canned up. the peas didn't can well and or the lids were bad as we had 20+ that didn't seal /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif Kind of made me mad enough were I was ready to give up on the beans too, lots of work in them peas what with the planting shucking and canning only to have em not seal up. worst was they held the seals for a few days then let go after storing em!... what a nasty frothy mess... our maters seem to be having lots of problems slow starts then they seemed to get burnt off really bad by the "sevin dust" I put down to stop the dang tater buggs & cabage flys. the dust seemed to FRY the vines really bad even though I barely coated them... the fruits them selves seemed to drop of just aobut the time they stared ornging up, and pretty sour too... the cherry ones fell off while nearly fuly green!>? but everyone locally had bad mater crop... consider you're self lucky... We had GREAT cucumbers though, must have had 200 lbs off of 4 plantings of 4 vines per.! NICE ones too. some were 2~3 lbs each!... want to let a few go to seed for next year they just keep a growing! have 2 really NICE pumpkins that were volintieers from last year! about 30 lbs each nice round and ORANGE as can be! still have 4~5 green on the vines from them... no luck what so ever on the EGG PLANTS and our RED taters grew great but the buggs grew faster, and the fruits didn't do all that well... about 20 lbs max for a 20' row /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif the White taters are about ready to DIG but seem NICE so far. I have 20" of them too. (Last year we got 40~50 lbs of each out of a single 20' row!!!) My CORN grew bad too, just as it was FINALLY earing up the wind storm blew down all the white & bi-color, but left the ornimental, which I planted a bit TOO close to my eating corn.. (the WHITE that DID produce actually was very cool looking with RED/BLUE Marbeled kernals intermixed with the white ones, very nice taste!
odd growing year for sure ..
