Many of you will remember that I relied on TBN and a lot of it's members to guide me through this home build. It is now finished, and even the 30x50x14 pole barn is 80% complete as of this writing. I want to thank you guys who PM'd me with all of your thoughts and experiences- it saved me from experiencing a lot of grief:thumbsup:
This home is a modular 'log cabin', but based on you guy's experience, I ditched the logs and the company traded me for Hardie siding in Board/Batten style. It is 1900sq ft, 4 bedroom, with a 30x10 front porch (Ipe wood), and conditioned crawlspace. The company is Blue Ridge Log Cabins out of Campobello SC, and with a solid GC, I hardly had any hiccups. Time will tell, though.
This website, and with the graciousness of Christ, allowed me to obtain the home. You steered me through all aspects of the build- land survey, financing, lot clearing, road building, drainage, house types, porch builds, HVAC, taxes, etc. Heck, even troubleshooting the 58 Powermaster was a part of it as well:confused2:
