If I buy another Z...................it might be diesel.
hugs, Brandi

I agree with you 100% on the sealed transmissions - not on my next Z.

I looked at the Kubota diesels - loved them - but my mow area is not that big for me to justify buying one. Of course I could always extend my mowing area - I do have a few extra open acres. But no, that area is for wildflowers and gophers.

Your dream machine is at Gidding's Ace Hardware. It has a Dixie Chopper Z that has 6 wheels. 4 of them are tractor tires - 4 wheel drive Z. It's like a skid steer and it can be driven on slopes. Then if you want it in to convert to a true Z you automatically lower the front caster wheels, which picks up the two front wheels, and you have your zero turn. It is a huge machine - I ruled it out quickly because of the $23,000 price tag but it's on sale for $10,900. I can see you mowing your dams with it.

This would be better than a tractor for a lot of TBNer's who only need to mow with their tractor but the ground is rough and hilly.

That's a lot lof money for only mowing 56 inches wide. I don't think it is for me. I don't mow the water sides of the dam and any z can fly down the backsides of my dams. I hardly mow at all around the island pond, just the top of the dam so far. The ducks seem to be keeping the rest okay. The back low spot on the back side of the dam is often wet and it the duck's swamp area. They grub in it all day long. The grass and weeds are higher there and the ducks can hide easier there. So there are 9 quacker mowers in there right now. Later today or tomorrow, there will be 19 in there. I sold 15 five week old ducklkings Thursday evening!

I just need the chevron ag tires to help me quit getting slip stuck so often while trying to mow too close to any wet area. One tire slips and it's tractor rescue time, with it's entailed walk of shame.

That is proof that if there is a real need then there is a market and if there is a market American ingenuity will find a way to meet that need.

Got another .5 inches in gauge over night. Drought condition residuals of 2011 are disappearing. HS

I figure we got about 1.06" late yesterday evening which brings us to 4.44" for the month of April.

I am worried that my baby tomatoes that I just planted, are going to drown. They don't look well at all with all the rain. I have clay soil, that I recently amended with some mushroom compost and cotton seed meal. It is basically a clay bowl filled with a mud pie.

My potatoes are blooming after the 1.5" rain and my zucchini is 4" long!

I finally got a pound and a half of field corn in. I disced one final time, walked along sliding seeds out as I walked..........then took the drag harrow and went over it. No hoeing! We'll see how good this works.

Brady was suppose to take photos while I was discing, but he took videos with his rinky dink phone and it won't send a video that I can save, much less share. It won't send any videos to my phone. So this is the only photo I got of the event. I'm moving the drag harrow with the loader bucket and backing up to drag it with the bucket. Long sleeve shirt a must for fresh crop of mosquitoes. 4-19-15 Me Pulling Drag Harrow Over Corn Seed.jpg

Brandi-
With all the rain we've had this summer it will be a banner year for mosquitoes. We've already got tons and every time it rains even a little we have water standing and puddles. I'm not looking forward to this part of summer.
