When I was a kid, dad took me out to a neighbors where they had 2 big tractors stuck in that deep at least. They were hitching 2 big belgians up when we got there. Those big boys just tightned up on their harness then leaned forward and got both tractors out, one at a time. Really cool to watch.

Yeah that would have been cool to see, real horsepower. My in-laws have a mammoth jack and it makes my 16h horse look small,no telling what he could move.

Well guess the new driveway is getting tested started raining at dark and still going.Would like to have had a few more days sun on it. When it gets nice again going to seed the sides with rye grass. What would be a good grass seed to throw out for a more permanent that wouldn't have to worry about mowing, that will hold? Something like buffalo grass? But I am thinking a winter grass would be better since that's when have the most trouble, could put out the same stuff when I do my deer food plots I guess and let the deer keep it mowed down.

Native Son----saw your post and thought I'd reply from the big city of Noonday, TX. Wet as all-get-out here. Got trees standing in water from my pond, where it's always been dry before. No complaints after 2011, but gonna be a while before I get my wife's garden tilled and ready to plant---way behind on that already. (Would like to see a little sun, though. Seriously.)

Howdy Runnerman-- Some Sunshine would be good. It's going to take a while for it to dry out enough to get out in the garden and do some serious work. I hope the Onion crop down in Noonday is on schedule!!

Thunderturf?

I done some reading on it and requires full sun. I say don't have to mow just cause don't wont to have have run the 0-turn but I can run the shredder here if needed, just wonted to keep the tractor traffic out the ditches.

Oh wow. Dad plowed with Morgans when he was young. About when he was 10 or 11, Grandpa bought his first tractor.

The ground might be getting a little warm now (down here anyway) for rye grass to sprout. I put some out a few weeks ago and it never sprouted. The seed was two years old. Don't know if that was the problem, or warm(er) ground. My Dogwood trees are in full bloom. Guess the Dogwood Festival is around the corner in Woodville.

My young pecan trees are budding out, so officially I declare spring down here.

Too wet to get into the garden.

Last year was the second time in the past 20 years I didn't have a garden. Was just too busy preparing to go to Key West as my daughter decided to have a destination wedding. The missus suggested raised beds over the small plot of ground thinking she might help me out more cuz it would be easier on her back. I'm planning on doing that this year. Dang it's wet. Also, I can't think of a garden without thinking about all the garden posts Jinman had.

I know what your mean. Last spring Jinman sent me some watermelon seeds. I'm gonna plant them real soon.
