My forecast changed ... 50% chance of rain Sunday night ... I stuck the JD today with 750 gallons of liquid 42-0-0 .. Thought it was dry enough ... NOT! I'll take the other tractor over in the a.m. To try and get free ... Was turning on the end and just couldn't get out of it ... Now what to do with all that fertilizer ... Has a pint to the acre of grazon in it. Oh we'll stuff happens.

I think if I unhook the sprayer I can drive out with a little help and then maybe drag the spray rig out ... I'll shoot some pictures.

It's only half an acre. I can push the mower around that in about half an hour, so will check back here in a bit! :D

Blue River, what are the odds?? There was nothing in the forecast for here yesterday, that I recall. Do you have a secondary you could get half into? would lighten the load maybe enough to get out.

FG19, I need a set of the batteries you run on:D:thumbsup:

Well now; That was a brisk workout! There is still plenty to use the push mower on tomorrow, at the barn, etc., but at least the lawn is done. I was running out of light on the last few passes, so may not be perfect, but should keep it from getting too tall and bogging down next time.

Tell me, why do people think they need a gym membership? :D

No batteries, Western. I'm afraid if I stop, I might not get back going again!

Hey Dennis, FG19, and Bird, I'm sending you a nice shower. The front has passed by here and left me with 3/4". The gust front sounds tough, but it's all rain. I just hope that all my tomatoes don't explode from all this rain. I'm in a gap in the storm now and expect to get more rain if I can believe the radar.

Radar shows pretty good rain in the Abilene area

Hoping the rain this morning goes around me or I may never get it out ... I do have a 300 gallon tote .. That may be a good option and with a lighter load and if the rain goes around me that may just let me get it sprayed on the field

Yep! The current storm stretches from Wichita Falls to Fort Worth. It's moving pretty slowly and looks to be solid coverage along the north-to-southwest line. The nice thing is the winds calm down after the initial front moves over and then it's just a steady rainfall. This storm is not mis-behaving.

I sure hope you stay dry enough to get your tractor unstuck. Good luck with that today.

Thanks Jim ... I am on the very NE tip of that .. Currently getting a light shower.. Been a long, long, loooong time since I've been stuck, hard to do in a drought !!!

I'm sure glad I mowed the lawn last night! Been a light and sound show, and some wind, I don't think anything damaging, just some welcome rain.

Bird; Here is a recipe that calls for the prepared stuffing. Would be simple enough, I'm just not that into prepackaged things that sit on a shelf. I have another that is a casserole, but can't place my hands on that one, quickly. I'll post it, when I find it. In the meantime:

Stuffed Squash

6 small yellow squash
1 TBS butter
1 medium onion; minced
1 cup, prepared bread stuffing
salt and pepper to taste
Grated Parmesan cheese

Wash, cut off stems and place squash in stew pan. Add small amount of water and steam until tender. Remove immediately from water. Cut oval slice from side of each squash. With spoon, scoop out the insides. Mix insides with butter, onion, stuffing, salt and pepper. Stuff squash; sprinkle with cheese. Bake at 325*-350* until throroughly heated. Serves 6-8

blueriver: Hate that you got stuck, but glad you had enough moisture in the ground to get stuck!

This light rain is nice, but I sure need a gully washer to fill the stock tank. That or I might be taking Western up on the offer to raid jinman's hoses and well!

That stuffed squash sounds like it might taste good, but that's quite a bit of work. The squash recipe our neighbor used just had lots of squash chopped up in the stuffing mix.

And last night, I didn't take the NWS forecast of 30% and 40% seriously, but woke this morning to a very welcome light show and heavy rain with almost no wind. Glad I did all my mowing Friday.

I didn't think of that recipe as work!

You can try this one. Mine is at the bottom of a stack somewhere, because I think it just tastes like stuffing, and I would rather taste the squash. But that is me.

Looks like 1.4" in the gauge! So, for the last 4 days, that makes 2"! Wahooo!

And, it was a little cool going out in shorts and tank top to tend livestock. Jeans and T-shirt might have been a better choice, but at least it was invigorating!

Still plan to get busy in a bit, and weekeat down at the gate, while cooler. That much, I can still do after the rain!

Here is a recipe for when you have all of that zucchini! Even easy enough for Bird! :D

Zucchini Squash

2 pounds zucchini squash, sliced
2 medium onions, sliced thin
1 tsp salt
1 tsp sugar
Butter

In heavy frying pan, alternate layers of squash and onions, until all are used. Add seasonings and dot with butter. Cover with water and cook on medium heat about 45 minutes, or until done. Water usually cooks away by the time the squash is done. Serves 4-6
