Ok. Now it's summer. Hit the magic 100 degrees today.

I hate to even think of 100 degrees. I don't even like low 90s.

jinman; I think I'd use the Spinosad without the soap. I apply at dusk. And yes, the litte rain that you stole from us, I mean, received, would have washed away your work, I would think.

Jim, Our roses had thrips and aphids...BAD, also black spot after the last rain. I mixed some apple cider vinegar and water and their gone!! I was treating for BS, and was going to go back with the Spinosad, but no need for now.

One thing that scares me about using pesticides, if I kill off most of the "good" bugs, that opens the door for an on-slot of baddies.

When I first began doing as much as possible, (and trying to do it ALL) organically, I bought a lot of ladybugs. They LOVE to feast on aphids. Of course, they don't mix, with even spinosad. The produce is safer for consumption, with either of them, than with other items, such as synthetic chemicals.

The year after I began using ladybugs, a neighbor made the comment that "There sure are a lot of ladybugs, this year!" I just had to laugh, because I knew they were happy and multiplying!

That's true, but I only saw about 20 ladybugs. If those 20 ladybugs ate all the aphids, they would be as big as a chihuahua. A red chihuahua with black dots on it's back is pretty scary.

I was going to get some , along with lacewings and pirate bugs, but they where mostly sold out by the time I got off my butt.

I saw 95˚ outside and 81˚ inside when the AC repairman showed up late this afternoon. Kyle I called Jim but he did not have both parts and it would take 2-3 days since it was warranty parts. I got the original installer to come out from San Marcos With both fan and dual capacitor (45/5). I got the part free but the labor charge + diagnostic fee + millage was still $200. But it is cooling today. It was just the dual capacitor (combo fan and compressor capacitor). Next time I'll replace it for 1/4 the the price. The determining factor if it was a capacitor or fan motor was if the blades turned easy by hand, they did, and he said it's the capacitor - and it was. Now I know, now I'm cool.

Don, thats why I asked if you could turn the fan:laughing: I learned the same way you did, but luckily my cousin has done AC since forever. I like the duel capacitor set up, like $14 here for mine last summer.

Under the circumstances, that is $200 well spent to stay cool!

Lou, those are some serious gardens!! I'm with Jim about that nice "flat" dark dirt too!!! Raised bed is the nicest I've ever seen too:thumbsup:

Jim, THANKS!! That seems simple enough even for me!! I dont think I want 1 "emitter" for each plant, seems I would have to worry every year if I got the seed in the wrong place (if I understand how they work correctly?) I do the "till in fertilizer" also, used to use allot of bull S, but since I dont live near a dairy anymore, I cant find any (except on the Kabota threads!!:stirthepot::rotfl

Its a 6500 dozer picked up couple years back,sterring clutch is out turn left makes for along day but have got my money back on use,was thinking about trading it in on a JD650 found one for 28grand may ride over and look but was thinking about a new Kubota M100gx

I've seen the JD650 in action and its a great machine with a good operator! What ever you get, dont forget a tractor and trailer, that would be the easiest way to get it to Wise county!!:laughing:
