Does anyone have a simple garden fresh salsa recipe they can share? I want to be ready when my first tomatoes ripen. Also picked my first jalapeno yesterday. Have plenty of fresh white onions ready and 1 cilantro stalk is growing. (Is it ok if the cilantro flowers out?) I won't use the flowering buds.
What else do I need? Do you guys prep the tomatoes by slicing and squeezing out the seeds or even blanching and peeling first? I was hoping for a blender or food processor recipe because I prefer smooth over chunky (my kids do too). I'm thinking I need some garlic too. Has anyone heard of adding a bit of chili powder to their recipe?

I guess I need to buy one of the Out-O-Sight traps. I had one of the spear types, which is what my Dad used to use many years ago in Oklahoma, but like yours, mine never tripped a single time, and I finally got disgusted with it and sold it in a garage sale.

Kyle, I have a small hand crank food processor that is my fresh salsa maker.
1. one large or two small jalapeños
2. 2-3 cloves garlic
chop these small in FP. Then add -
3. 1/4 onion - you don't want the onion to overpower the other taste
4. 3-4 roma tomatoes (depending on size) (I cut them in 4ths and throw them in the FP no need to do anything to them)
5. 1/4-1/2 cup cilantro leaves (not packed down)(I like cilantro)
6. 2-3 tablespoons of lime juice or juice from 1 lime
7. salt and pepper
blend it to a chunky consistency about 1/4 to 1/8" but since you like it smooth blend it however you like it.
I find no need to cook it.
This stays in the refrigerator for a week but it's usually gone in two days.
For dipping - to stay virtually fat free I cut a cookie sheet of corn tortillas into 8ths with a pizza cutter and bake till crisp.
Adding chill powder would be an interesting option and make it redder. Adding smoked paprika will give it a hint of a smokey taste.
{All measurements approximate}

Bird, believe it or not, Northern tool had them the cheapest that I could find, even with shipping. I see they went up $1 since 2weeks ago??? out of sight mole trap from Northern Tool + Equipment

I will say that cats are OBLIGATE carnivores. Without meat, they don't get taurine, and they certainly do die of heart disease then. Was a huge recall in pet food many years ago, for that very reason. Not enough meat, and cats dying of heart disease. Interestingly enough, most went blind not long before death.
The rest of the stuff, keep beating the dead horse. I don't expect to be playing.

I was out on the JD, and it couldn't decide if it should rain, or not. Started for the house, and it would quit. Headed back out to the pastures, and it would begin a little harder. So, I came out of the pasture, and mowed the lane that I live on. Didn't want it to become a fire hazard. Now, the sun is trying to shine.

I got about .06, I saw the radar and I figured you would have got something?
Don, I had watched a show on Discovery I think it was. They said they suspect a "gene" since several of the Egyptian mummies had signs of heart disease?? Is that the show you watched too?
