Reports of a tornado touching down near Graham, per the Graham FD.

Possum Kingdom lake should get some nice run-off since the storm has sat there for near 2 hours!

NWS has a Tornado Warning for the Graham area, so there is circulation, if nothing else. I would think the FD would know better than just the radar.

What's up with the storm southeast of Dallas down I-45? It seems to be a pop-up thunderstorm. Looks like the Ennis/Corsicana area.
That one got within a few miles of me,it went over my brothers in teague dropped ping pong size hai, that covered there yard. I was cutting hay looking at the sky second guessing myself if I should have started but didn't get barely a sprinkle.

Nothing worse than having hay on the ground and rain comes, can be a gamble in late March/ early May with Spring rains.

I have a small storm strengthening just West of me now and I thought it was over for the day. So far allot of lightning with associated thunder and a few drops on the deck.

While everyone was discussing the storm last night, we were watching a Redbox movie and keeping an eye out the window. The storms touched Jack County, but never anything but a heavy cloud cover here in N. Wise Co. We did see a couple of lightning strikes nearby because we were close enough to get outflow from the storm, but not a drop of moisture. I really hope we have a day or two to dry out some to allow me to work in the garden. Yesterday, when I sprayed, it was still a bit muddy in places, but no standing water.

Gotta go get into the garden and pick sugar snap peas. I need to pull the deck off my Kubota diesel lawn mower and service the blades and change fuel filters. If I get all that done, I'll see what else I can stir up today. Tomorrow, I'm going to go visit with my new great grandbaby, Noah. He was born last weekend and I've been anxious to go see him. That makes two great-grandkids for me, both boys.:)

When you gonna get a great granddaughter?

You know, as a grandparent, you have very little control of these things.;) . . . and all my granddaughters are great.:D

I cultivated 2/3 of my garden yesterday to aerate the soil a bit without disturbing roots. That made the job easy before the ground got hard and crusty after the rain. My grandson was helping and said, "Hey! The okra is coming up already." Sure enough, it is cracking the ground and coming up in a huge way. It looks like I will finally have a great stand of okra. I picked a double handful of sugar snap peas yesterday from the early plants that are the largest. I have one plant that's 30" tall and still growing. They are all covered in blooms and small peas, so I'll be picking many more very soon. I strung another tier of trellis ropes for them to run up on. My bush beans have big healthy leaves and lots of blooms too. I'll be eating fresh beans, peas, and maybe even cherry tomatoes by the end of May. That's if we don't get caught up in one of the possible storms that could drop hail and ruin the whole mess as in, "Someone left the cake out in the rain. . . ."

WINDY!!! I think I saw FG19's hat blow through the yard! Jim, if you see a ball cap that says "82nd Airborne" it's mine:laughing:

Jim, you are WAYYY ahead of me in the production department, I have quite a few tomatoes ,but thats it so far, I may be harvesting in November!

Mine says, "John Deere" on it! :D

The "breeze" made it nice out running the 1050! While it has a canopy, the wind is the only A/C! It was a lot better mowing the horse pasture today, than it was other areas yesterday. Only 12 acres left to brush hog. I still have a half acre to push the mower around, as well as a day's worth of weedeating. Hope to get at least some of those done today, while the wind helps keep the temps tolerable.

I'll have to water the garden today. What we got Wednesday soaked right in, and things are dry again. The wind doesn't help in that department. And I rarely water the lawn. That just means pushing the mower around more!

Wow! That's really different from me. I couldn't really cultivate my sugar snap peas and onions yesterday because it was still too wet in that part of the garden. However, I just got home from visiting my new great-grandson and noticed the yard looks dry. I'll mow tomorrow morning and may go right back to watering if the winds aren't too strong.

jinman; The only day that I wore rubber boots was Thursday, after the rain. Was dry enough Friday morning that I could walk anywhere and not get muddy.

I thought I might hit some wet areas when brush hogging the horse pasture today, but never saw mud, and the back of it is very low, and in a rainy season, will stand in water for days. Wished I'd had my camera when I was in the front pasture, to take a close up of how low the stock tank is. I'll have to mow places that should be under 12 feet of water! Sure dont want those super cells, but definitely need rain!

So, how was the visit with the new great grandson? :)

Please don't call the safety police, but last week I was mowing on my rider and put my 30lb 3 year old boy in my lap. He was having a great time until about 40 minutes into the job, he feel asleep. :)
