Gotta like that, yah, my little kids love to fish. My oldest, 7 year old girl, asked me if I'd take her fishing in lieu of a birthday party. I asked her if she wanted to go bay fishing in the saltwater and she said "YES"! So, it looks like a trip to Port O'connor sometime around the early part of June for me. :)

Man that's great!!, I have many many memories of doing the same thing as a kid. Thats is how every kid I knew grew up and we turned out OK:laughing: Holding up a fish like that at that age, is the best "gang sign" a youngster can learn in this time and age.

Looks like i may be "dodging" rain again..bummer

Bring it with you!!! The sun is shining here, and I went ahead and watered my garden today. I knew that I wouldn't have time tomorrow, after work, before I thought it too cold to play in the water.

Well, of course the previous weather forecasts were NO GOOD! The new forecast says 32 F with 30 mph gusts. Sheesh! Double sheesh! The tomato plant bucket brigade will begin here tomorrow morning. I'd do it today, but it's to hot to cover them with the sun out brightly. I'm going to cover my beans this time and hope the sugar snap and sweet peas can handle the temperatures. Nothing we've had before hurt them. I'll just cover the tomatoes, peppers, squash-cucumbers-melons, and my beans. I planted blackeyes again two days ago and I've been waiting to replant okra. Those decisions look better all the time. GOSH! I hope this is the last time I have to do this.

Very unusual Spring weather. I wont have time to try any protection for the garden. What happens happens at this point. I just hope I dont have to start all over. Any other Spring and we would be late planting most veggies this time of year. In a week, we could be in a 360* fighting heat and dryness in our gardens. :mur:

On the side: Here I go South to try and locate some rain to bring North and have done a pretty good job so far, then I find you guy's "drop the ball" and are going to let an oddball cold front over the Red River??? I thought this was a "team" effort?? Just cant leave you "old people" by yourselves anymore:laughing::D

Crazy weather Jim.
We were in the 80's today and will be warm for the next week. We ate a bunch of fresh green onions from the garden today. The wife said they have been planted for 3-1/2 weeks.
By the time they are all eaten a month or so from now it will be too hot to plant any more and there won't be any sets available anyway. When we plant them in the hot summer they taste like soap when they are big enough to eat.
