Haven't checked gage, but it's been pouring outside for about 20 minutes. Woohoo!

Well I guess you got off "work" early:laughing: At least the temps are decent enough to be outside.

I still have sunshine, but the looks of the radar make me glad I mowed yesterday.:)

Yeah Bird, I did notice you didn't do mine too, gee thanks:D Gives me something to look forward to I guess.

Can't decide what is worse, poison ivy or chiggers cause I am ate up with both.:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

Mowed this morning, now it's thundering, raining hard with lots of lightning. Just a little isolated cell in East Texas but I'll take anything I can get. Radar shows the heavy stuff heading to Bird.

You have my sympathy. I've had a lot more personal experience with both than I ever wanted, but fortunately, it's been quite a few years since I've suffered from either.

I know the feeling:( I'll take the chiggers though, a good rubbing of 50/50 bleach water on my legs (burns like ****) usually cures the chigger problem

So far in the rain gauge it appears like almost 1-1/2" since yesterday morning, keeps up like this (not complaining) I'll have ferns and other tropical plants in my creek:D

That reminds me of our old cure in my younger days; just a tiny spot of clear fingernail polish on each chigger bump supposedly suffocated them.

Rain didn't arrive here until after 3 p.m., but looks like about 0.90" so far. It's almost quit right now, but sure came down heavy for awhile; got pretty windy, first from the south, then from the north, but I don't think we have any damage.

I quit and came into the house about 5 min before the downpour. I got about 1" total today, but it came down so quickly, I had quite a bit of runoff. I looked out and my pond is a muddy green color. That's a good sign.

I got that .9" the first hour or less, then the rain almost quit, then settled into a very light, but steady rain. Looks like about an inch and a quarter and still raining. It's wonderful.

Glad you are getting some rain down in TX. Cut lawn yesterday. It was like cutting hay. Very dry here. More like late July early August weather. Without the heat.

We were out on the deck yesterday evening with a glass of wine and we could hear thunder rolling way back to the north and west. The wind dropped to zero and it was real still, so I was hopping this storm wouldn't miss us.

After we finished supper it hit. Lot's of wind and rain and thunder. The dogs were trying to get under the furniture. Went out this morning at 4:30 and we had 1 1/4 inch of much needed rain. I'll wait till it gets light to go look for down limbs etc.

Mother Nature does a much better job of watering the garden than I do.

About 5:45 a.m. this morning, it was not raining and I dumped about 1.4" of rain out of my gauge. And now before 6:30 a.m., it's raining again. I'm glad to see the rain, but I was hoping it would hold off a little while this morning, since I have to go, in just a few minutes, to pick up a young lady with 2 little kids and take them to the airport.

I was working on a house out at Lake ********* yesterday and could hear the thunder most of the day. It was a bit of a race to see if I could finish before the rain hit, and somehow, I just made it. I loaded my tools in the rain, but all the wood was cut and installed before it hit. I drove home just ahead of the storm.

When it hit, it REALLY HIT!!!! Extremly strong winds and a downpour that was as heavy as I've ever seen. In half an hour I had close to two inches!!!!! This morning there is just over 2 1/2 inches in my gauge.

Forecast is for more today and tonight, then again on Friday.

So far I'm at 1-1/2" for the 2-day total, actually getting some runoff. I know Lake Bridgeport is over 5' low, one of the few area lakes that isnt to stage yet.

When I went to Houston, I decided to go down Hwy 6, very dry down around Navasota it appeared, but a nice drive , (met a real nice State Trooper in College Station!):D

Did the trooper charge you for the meeting?

Actually we had "mutual buddies" from my LEO day's:laughing: My running light wire had shorted, but I still had brake and turn lights, so he had stopped me for an "equipment infraction" and rightfully so. I would have been in a jam if someone rear-ended me. He wrote me a warning, but I have no doubt if I had been speeding or otherwise "rude" he would have done what was necessary. I wrote many a warning for minor equipment violations. I was thankful he stopped me since I had no idea.

I ended up with another 6/10 yesterday:thumbsup: today should be a real nice day in the 80's, but Monday is bringing 100*. A good day to do a complete brake assembly replacement on my trailer:thumbsup: Leave for West TX, Colorado and New Mexico for 3 weeks of work Monday night. OH yippeee

Well Dennis, leaving for work is a lot better than leaving for the unemployment office.:confused2:

We got another 1/2" of rain yesterday, so our total for this storm is 1-1/2". It's not a spectacular amount of rain, but it sure is great for the first week in June. I've got to spray the garden again since all the Sevin washed off. I'll have to wait a bit until it drys out some. I tilled down some weeds and that soft ground grabs the water and holds on. I suspect it will be tomorrow or late this afternoon before I can walk the rows.

Oh yes, I have to pump more water out of my pond I'm still digging on. I had a large area dug out that is now filled with water. The other pond is doing nicely for volume. I'll post some photos in my pond thread soon.

I wound up with a grand total of 1.75" and now it appears to all be over until at least next Tuesday; just going to be hot and sunny.
