That harrow does a nice job . Looks like fun .

That harrow was the best 900 I spent for the pastures, its 12ft and my mower is alittle over that and it does great.I let two different ranches borrow it and they both went and bought one just like it,its made by armstrongAG.

Foreman, when the harrow gets full of weed stems and debris, how do you get it out? Does it release and mostly clear in the corners? I'm spoiled to my old spring-tooth that I lift the handle and pull forward to dump debris. I've just never understood how a chain harrow works when debris collect on the tines. Maybe, you can't use it in heavy brush/weed areas. . . I plead ignorance.:confused3:

Yeah in heavy brush on the most aggressive side(showed in picture) it will catch the stickes/etc. but most the smaller stuff it will eventually come out and the old dead grass will bounce free. I drive the field before hand and pick up the bigger sticks and whatever else may find. If the field has alot of dry hay or brush whatnot, can just back up to the opposite, hook the chain up and the drag will flip itself over to the none-aggressive side and can pull it that way and also clean the other side out or just pick it up with loader and shake it. Like you see in picture it will just build alittle, dont just keep pilling up and up,it comes out before that has ever happened. The teeth kinda rest on top of the ground, when you pull it its kinda skipping, except in the softer place what allow it to go alittle deep into soil, but on a pasture with grass, your really riding the surface.Hope i explained it good enough..

Boy-oh-boy! We seem to be in the bullseye of these storms moving across and I'm thrilled. We've had just shy of 1" so far. Thunder is rumbling and pea to marble sized hail has fallen to a small amount. I forgot and left my white lawn furniture cushions out and they are soaked. . . a pretty good tradeoff in my opinion. I'll have to remember that trick for future needs.:D

I wasn't quite that lucky; only got a little less than a quarter inch of rain, but even that was greatly appreciated.

I only got .23, Think I will shower and run to Lowes and pick up some White lawn chair cushions:laughing:

The second round of showers this afternoon brought my total up around .39". Grass is really starting to grow. Bluebonnets in the area starting to bloom. Seems like Spring, however, another freeze forecast for tomorrow night doesn't sound all that great.

Yes, and most of my garden is already in the ground and looking REALLY good. I need a LOT more rain, but certainly could do without a freeze.

I wish you guys would send that rain down my way after you are through with it (south west of Houston). My area is already in the severe drought category again.

There is enough moisture in the ground that the white oaks are full of bright green leaves and the Texas Acacia (also know as Huisache) is in full bloom making the air smell SOOOO sweet. The Pecan trees haven't started to leaf out yet but the buds are showing signs of doing so soon. It's been in the 80's here with overnight lows in the low 60's but it is supposed to cool off a little the next few days; lows in the mid 30's and highs in the mid to upper 60's for the next couple of days then warming up again.

No rain.
I kind of saw the first snake of the season. It was being carried by a roadrunner running across the road. I had to brake so I would not hit him. I don't think I'll count it because I don't know if the roadrunner found him hibernating or awake.

The pecan trees are still not out so the big questions is will we get a frost this week. All of the mesquite are out.

This big bird came to our bird feeder but then got camera shy.

I'll try, he still is running back and forth on the driveway. The other one with the snake was about a mile away.

Crazy windy here. Gusts over 30mph.
Hope nobody throws a cigarette out the window, even if it's their first attempt at quitting smoking....
