Poured 2.6 out when got off yesterday, another .8 in there this morning. It hasn't been that bad around here it floods the roads some then has enough time to go back down before the next round. Good thing we have 4wds at work and then sometimes we still have pull one another out.

Lot of people build ponds or lakes on their property,, not me,, I like a well.. I just put my boat in and paddle over to it.. to make sure it is keeping the watering tanks full.. all my cows have their own life vest now.. Lou

My pavers are turning green.

Do those mosquito repellant wrist bands work?

Is all this rain bringing your snakes to the house?

We had a hot (84 degrees), sunny day today for the first time in a long time. So I got both the car and the pickup washed. So it's almost sure to rain again tonight and tomorrow.

I saw more snakes out and about BEFORE the rains came then now.

I saw a snake last week searching for "barbacoa". I mostly see frogs, turtles, and crawfish.
I did find our bull, I got his fence busting butt loaded up and I took him to the sale barn in Athens this morning.

Since I got my snake boots I have not seen a snake. Brandi I think you might be right. The woods are filled with new frogs and they seem to not be making their way into the yard.

We have a lot of snakes down here.. cause I see them hanging on the fence from all the butcherbirds.. guess it been so wet they have been working overtime.. Caracara birds like the big ones,, saw them carrying them off while mowing.. Hawks like field mouse,, I like chicken,, in a way I guess we are related.. smile.. Lou

This morning I took our little mutt for a walk in the Community Park, a park that includes, among other things, a community fishing pond that I'd consider more of a community cess pool or mud puddle. I saw one big black snake taking off through the weeds as we approached the pond, then a much smaller one (2' or less) followed.

I expected more of them, for a variety of reasons. I don't mind the rat snakes, if the dogs hadn't found it I would have ushered it into the woods but they would have tortured it so it got a swift clean shovel.

How about a picture of you in your snake boots with your dog?
