We're watching the radar and it looks like everyone North of the Metroplex is getting a lot of rain. Not sure if it's going to work it's way East and get to us or not. My fish are thirsty and hoping for some rain!!!!

Cant believe it's a nice 66*!! Not sure how much rain I've got so far. Still have to wake up and get some coffee down:laughing:

FG19, I picked some Okra yesterday while the compressor was filling so I could air up my tires, how do you eat the "tomatoes and okra"? stirred together?

Eddie. I think you will get some good rain in turn!, I was going to be working in East Tx this comeing week, but the forecast changed that idea.

Here is a pic of me running naked in the rain! I wanted to enjoy every drop that fell! Of course, you have to use your imagination, since I am running behind the trees!

Edit: Reminds me of the old Loretta Lynn song about running naked in the rain.

Western; Okra and tomatoes is easy, and GOOD! Here is today's lunch, from start to finish! I cook a couple of pieces of bacon, and set aside, then cook the onions until tender, in the drippings. Throw in tomatoes, okra, and a little salt and pepper, and simmer 10-15 minutes. Serve over rice, and garnish with the crumbled bacon.

Thanks, jinman! No, it doesn't leave the kitchen! But I couldn't live without my Henckel's chef's knife! Got to have the ones from Germany, not the "International". BIG difference! Good knifes make working in the kitchen so much nicer, and will last a lifetime, if cared for. Worth the investment!

And that dish uses lots from the garden, with onions, okra and tomatoes. Only thing to buy is bacon and rice. I used to get a hog slaughtered each year, as it would be from the Hood County Stock show. Putting it in the freezer was $1.49/pound. Dogs and I could eat most of the year on that! And there was always bacon for such as this. Try finding bacon, even on mark down for that price in the stores. No wonder I have so many freezers! :D

If anyone needs actual measurements to get started with the recipe, I can post them. I just usually do it as I feel, since I've been making it so long!
