I got a whopping 2.6" in my gage this morning.:cloud9: I noticed the storm finally moved into Denton County about 9:30 last night with what looked to be only heavy rain and some hail possible. I haven't heard from Bird this morning, but I'm sure his yard got well watered.

Last night's storm was the most rain I've had at once since last spring. The most amazing thing is we didn't lose power a single time. Of course, the Dish Network TV system puked about a dozen times, but my Wise Elec Coop power held in there throughout the event. Looking at my garden from my house (too muddy to walk there just yet) all looks good. My two Canadian visitors were here right on time this morning eating grass and honking at all the cars that drove by.:)

I was monitoring the storm last night and they were saying "Possible tornado headed East, North of Krum" and then they mentioned a wall cloud near Sunset. I looked at my wife told her...I bet Jim is getting some runoff in his new tank, THEN told her to get her shoes on, just in case. She just shook her head...

Jim you mentioned "power", that's something we noticed last night also. We have Wise coop on the well and Tri county for the house, had power all night. Same experience here with Dishnetwork, love the little box that pops up and says to "check for ice, rain ,snow or other obstructions" SOOOO checked last night and saw "rain" as the obstruction, couldn't move it though:D When Satilite goes out, all we have for information is the internet and usually at least have phone service.

I know from Birds past post, he looses power like a kid with a new nickle:laughing:

Farmgirl, you where especially lucky, the track of that storm w/tornado from Millsap to Granbury, could have just as easily went down Old Dennis road or nearer your place:eek:

I haven't heard from my friend in Cleburne, he lives right beside the Hospital which is still without power ( running on emergency system). I'm hoping he is just "bust" with assessment/cleanup, no reported injury's there so far so that is good.

I pulled up a precipitation map for the entire storm. The amount it shows for my place is exactly correct. I think they use radar data for these estimates and they are very accurate. Amazing! Anyhow, I approximated the locations of folks I know of and posted them on the map.

I hope that is why we haven't heard from him yet today, just a power outage.

Had it gone there, I am sure that I would have been needing to clean my britches! When I heard about the storm, it was because a newighbor knew I was out swapping implements on the tractor, and came to tell me about the tornado in Millsap, and to take cover, as it was predicted to get to us in less than 10 minutes. I don't have a TV, as I got tired of the pop up box, when weather was bad, and I needed updates. Yes, I think you are right, Western, i was especially lucky!

I heard that cell service was out there too, because of the overload. Said some texts were about all getting through. Between power outages and cell overload, I hope that is all that your friend is dealing with today.

Thanks for keeping me informed, last night, Western. I had not heard about the tornado in Cleburne, until you posted about it. I was thinking about going to bed, but decided to sit up and see what happened, after your post came through.

Not a problem Farmgirl, I know there are lots of times folks may check in with TBN and wont even have the "tube" on. I take storms VERY serious:laughing: For many reasons that you wouldn't believe and almost embarrassed to post:laughing: Since "mother nature" in name is a female:D, she is very "unpredictable":mischievous::rotfl:

Jim, that is a neat graphic! that from NOAA?

You and Farmgirl should have bought a powerball ticket yesterday:laughing: I'm thinking you guys may have split $350 mil!!!!

Yes Dennis, that's NOAA/NWS. When you look at the radar map for DFW, look down at selections and you can see precip for 1-hour total or storm total. I took storm total and screen captured it to add text and arrows.

Garden looks good, no hail damage, but the moles are on the war path!

I went on to bed last night, but found this morning that I had about an inch and a third of rain in the gauge. My wife said it was really coming down, but none of the problems so many had last night.

And Dennis, the electric company found the problem that was causing the frequent power outages and fixed it, so we haven't had one since October 23, 2011.

great job with the map.. if you look South of Waco and South of the I35 marker, I am just 2 miles South of the Williamson County line (next county down from marker) and 1 mile west of I 35. great to see where y'all are...been wondering. Yes, map is accurate within the calibration for what I got.
