Muhammed/Ibrahim,

Has there been any thought to publishing TBN via RSS? I have been using a new feature of Firefox that allows RSS feeds to appear in my bookmarks folder as individual entries. I can imagine TBN fitting in well with this scheme where each forum is it's own seperate feed.

Just a suggestion /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

We'll continue to look at the options as the demand builds. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

We'll have RSS feeds in our next forum upgrade. No firm plans on when that will be, though. Probably a couple of months.

I read the info in that link -- twice -- and while I recognized most of the words (except livemark??), the meaning of the article completely escaped me. It was totally in geek-speak. Can someone explain in simple terms? Why would I want a livemark or a bookmark folder and what would it do for me?

It would be a big timesaver.

How exactly would this save time? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Yes, please. Like Don, I had no idea what I was reading.

As the originator of this thread, let me add my experience since this feature became abailable in Firefox.

Blah! /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

It started out sounding like something that was usefull, however after several weeks of utilizing the feature to subscribe to the headlines of a few of the sites I frequent, I can say that it added nothing usefull to the experience for me. I found no advantage to the Live Bookmarks, and always ended up going directly to the site to browse anyway.

My vote for a TBN enhancement is.....a threaded version of the "Read Posts from the Last (1, 6, 12, 24) hours".

What a mess that would be. If someone posts the 30th response from a thread, do you want all 29 previous ones shown even though it was not posted in the last x-hours? If not, how exactly would you display that post in a threaded view? How would independent threads be shown threaded? I'm just not seeing it, perhaps I'm not thinking clearly.

An expandable/collapsable tree of threads that have been active during the timeframe, sorted (sortable by user?) by the thread with the most recent posting at the top and then descending.

Recent messages will be changed to display "threads with new posts in the past x hours" rather than individual posts. This will save time by just showing you the one thread link instead of multiple post links.
