Some of these shop pictures make me realize I need to clean up. I have always put my tools away when I am finished with a job but I tend to leave parts, materials, papers, etc scattered.

The most un glamorous part of finishing a project: cleanup

Four out of five projects begin as clean-ups, but then something should have been fixed vs tossing out & I'm hiding in manual labor vs making decisions and tidying up.

Particularly cutting trees or brush. The cutting is the satisfying & fun part, the cleanup not so much.

Painting is the reverse. Prep prep prep...then the fun of painting.

No feeling quite like thirty minutes with the pole saw until you turn around and realize there is two hours of cleanup. Buying a grapple has reduced this time considerably.

Actually I'm quite lazy. I don't clean up until after the lawn mower has gone over the branches. here's a lot less to clean up that way. Now I realize that some people have different standards when it comes to appearances but this works for me.

My Brother grabbed the wash boiler from the family estate to pile Time, Hemmings Motor News, and Road & Track magazines into. Copper on the outside is ~80% intact.

(I don't know how they get their linens clean. )

I'm, still looking for a wringer washer. I see 'em in yards rusting away with weeds growing around them.

I'd rather stumble onto one before it's put out as yard art.

We still have one of those up on our farm.
