Nice work, very nice work. Question for you. It appears the business end of the wedge is a different material, what did you use? Also, what equipment did you use to bend the ends of those plate sections toward the front of the wedge?

the single wedge is , 1/4 plate . the slip on is 3/8 plate the joint at the front is a piece of 1/2 plate , beveled and welded then sanded down.
I did the bends in a press brake.
I use a lincon cv-300 w/.030 wire.

Nice looking wedge! I'm building a new splitter now, do you think that wedge would work with a lift on it also? Sort of like what the rayco or timberwolf does?

20 tons is very adequate, the guys in maine or oregon may disagree, but ,usually we dont see giant trees here in vt anymore.
