Romantic Dinner...Henro Version...

We had a lot of rain in Pgh yesterday...most ever recorded...about 6 inches.

Lots of flooding but the worst we suffered at our home was power loss.

Seemed like a prime opportunity for me to set up for a candle light dinner...

I set things up so my vision would become reality... Candles lit and everything in place...

It’s hard to see in this picture if my wife is appreciative of my efforts or not, but I am certain she does.

I even got her a glass of beer to enjoy while I sat at the dining table and sipped one myself, while observing her cook. She is a wizard in the kitchen; I would never get in the way by offering to help.

Sometimes it amazes me how thoughtful of a husband I am! Noticed I even provided a headlamp for her to wear.

You know...I was trying to figure out what was related about this thread while I was on the way to get some sacrete for a post bottom at my shed...for the tractor...so I can put better doors on for this winter...

Truth is, for me I have a wonderful wife, and we have a great life together, nothing is worth more than that.

When the power goes out around here we use it as an excuse to eat out for the night. Glad I'm not in Florida right now as I would most likely have to drive to the next state to find a restaurant that had power to cook the meal. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

You know, we actually have an equal relationship. As proof, let me report something that happened some years ago.

My wife like to watch wild animals. She really enjoys viewing wildlife. Our house is open mostly on the first floor. I was in the room at the far end, which overlooks the back property and the pond.

The wife was in the kitchen, doing her thing, and I was looking down at the pond when several deer come into view.

Knowing that she loves wildlife, I yell over in her direction "deer, deer..."

Her reply:

"Get your own beer, I'm busy cooking!"
