JJT is right. If you first take the entire area to grade, then call in the truck(s) and have them spread an inch or so of road base, you will end up with a finished product that is more uniform, will last longer, and will require less effort on your part. You will need to make sure there are no trees/wires in the way, as these trucks require considerable vertical clearance while dumping.
