Rear ballast box

/ Rear ballast box #21
I'd like to make a ballast box for my Kubota BX2350, and have a place on top for a chainsaw box. Any suggestions for how much the ballast should weigh? Thinking of a concrete ballast box that will hook to my quick-hitch.

Kind of sorta of depends on size of tractor..... For your BX 2350 I would guess between 400-500 lbs.. My SCUT, MF GC1715 has a box weighing in at about 600 lbs.... Its great for traction and really counters the weight in FEL well, but may be a bit heavy.... Did you check your owners manual for reccomendations?... If you are fabing it up, just be sure lifting points are high enough to set box on ground and still have 3PH QH hooks below box pins...

Your tractor and/or loader manual should have a table showing how much ballast is required for that tractor/loader combo. On a tractor this small, I’d guess the recommended ballast for the 3-point might be as low as 500 lb, but that’s just a guess.

Thanks for the advice, WinterDeere and WranglerX. I'll double-check the manual. Didn't see the table, but will check again.

Not sure about Kubota, but Deere puts a relatively crude and simple table in the tractor manual, with a more detailed/correct one in the loader manual. I suspect Kubota does something similar.
