Exactly.
A while back, I had a local muffler shop wire up my wife's Saturn Vue trailer light receptacle. Never used it to tow anything for years.
Then we bought a camper, the truck was out of service, so I used the Vue to tow it the 70 miles home. (Converting the 7 pin trailer, to work with the 4 pin Saturn wiring was a trick in itself. Sorry safety police, it was light enough I didn't worry about having no trailer brakes).
As we tested the "improvisation", I soon realized the garage had wired the trailer's turn signals backwards.
Sure enough, coming through town a cop gets right on my bumper when I had to make a left turn at an intersection. With apologies to the cars facing me, I put on my right turn signals and made my left turn.
