I’m probably going to order a stump ripper for the 320. You can pretty well move the 320 in one piece with a regular semi and you could probably do the same with a 330 but much bigger and things get considerably more difficult.
Yeah, 385 requires special transport permit and training, can only be moved on specific days and between certain hours.

Significant decrease in time and wear. Less ground disturbance requires less reclamation time, wear and possibly materials. Adding a new blade to an already impressive Swiss Army knife of tractors. One of the many advantages of KX QA mounting system on the M59. Swings well above its’ weight class.

I was wondering when you would arrive to this conversation. Dig that stump out yet? ;)

I needed something to dig 25 acres of hardwood stumps.
Rent/hire. I had a 27 ton machine in recently and it pulls those stumps out in under a minute. Ended up being cheaper to hire a guy than to rent a machine, fuel and operate it myself. Freed me up to get other jobs done at the same time.

If you look at the cost per root your M59 gets pretty expensive if you are spending even 15 minutes on one root when I am taking out 30 roots in an hour on the bigger machine.

Mikester,

Agree with your point on cost per root with M59, but I don't do commercial and retired at fairly young age so seat time on M59 keeps me out of wife's hair. I am looking at adding KX 80 or equivalent and D3 dozer to the stable when quality at reasonable price presents itself. This particular stump was well rooted and I only had access to 2 sides so it took much longer than usual.

If I had work like 4570Man ( 25 acres of stump) then I would be using a much larger 50K Lb machine.

I’ve got a 20 ton machine on the job.

First stump with ripper. 14” Persimmon, 24” at base.

Used the front grapple to rake and wheels to compact hole spoils several times.

Stump moved to gully digester. 30 minutes total time.

Agree considerable less time and ground disturbance over a bucket. Good attachment for this little machine. Much use in its future.

Mega outrigger pads, outrigger steps, hand thumb control and KX quick attach made for an easy and fun job.

Had a 30” dead oak fall across and block the driveway Saturday. Tractor safely carries the chainsaw and log chains. $1500-2000 tree specialist job. Safely cut, moved and cleaned up 1.5 old man hours without tearing up the driveway. Not the machine I would use to clear 25 acres or build a subdivision but for farm/estate maintenance hard to beat.

Time to get another stump.

I wanted a root ripper for the same reasons.so I welded some old pieces together and stuck a Cat sticker on. It really does speed up stump removal, but I concerned about my windshield or I just have to remember to open them out of the way.
