Tb260 with thumb and hydraulic pin grabber coupler, 86,000 adding an angle backfill blade took it to 89,000.

Tb370 with thumb and hydraulic pin grabber coupler, 103,000

These are both cab units tax is included in the price.
So we are 6% , that puts the tb250 $70484 without pin grabber.
i priced the u55..about 71k and the kx040 was about 76100. Non tax.

Which machine did you go with? Have you got it?

Kx040 break out bucket/arm 9535/4112
dig depth 11’3”
reach 18’2”
9855 lb
my sale price used 175hr, $58k

u48-5 break out bucket/arm 9304/5304.
dig depth 10’8”
reach 18’4
11531 lb
$70056

tb250 break out bucket/arm 10430/5261
dig depth 12’5”
reach 20’1”
11288 lb
$66495

on paper the tb250 is unquestionably higher performing. I know kubotas quality, only speculate on Takeuchi and that is it of equal quality.

On paper it seems the u48 only specs higher than the kx in weight

You gain no reach, dig depth, or power.

So for me, unless I'm missing something....is rule it out pronto

That is true, but initially my intent was just to get into the new cab of the -5. Then i got into the hydro stuff when i stumbled onto the Takeuchi, and its digging lengths. But, imo, I would be going backwards in the cab refinement with the Takeuchi, probably not an issue for most, but for the sake of this thread is an important factor to me.
really need time in the cab and find the cabin filter on a tb250. Hvac longevity is important. The kx040’s cabin filter is embarrassing. I have a thread here I think where I sealed the return and retrofitted the svl75 style outer filter on mine. Just as fyi, uno those cheap blue filters they sell at lowes/Home Depot for home hvac’s. That’s the same level of filter the kx has. The svl utilizes that same filter on the recirculate filter. The new -5’s have a complete different filtration set up, as well as completely redesigned hvac system. I went all through that when I ran the kx057-5.
Also the lifting capacity is about 500lb better on the u48 over the 040, and more than a 1400lb better on the tb250. How does Takeuchi achieve this with same weight and hp…

but I’m rambling, this is not hydro related.

The Tackuchi tb250 outweighs the Kubota 40 by a thousand pounds or so. I’d recommend taking a look at a Deere 50. It’s a tad bigger then the 40 and a more refined piece than the Tackuchi.

So does the u48, they both weight about 1500lb more.

oh, dumb me. This is over blade. I haven’t tried to lift 5600lb over blade. I assume the boom would lift but rear will come up? Is that your thinking? with my 5’ gravel bucket it will tip wile loading bucket with boom stretched out Blade up, not tried with blade down as I’m usually just grabbing and going.

The 48 doesn’t have any more boom than the 40 does. The 250 and I’d assume the 50 Deere has a little bit bigger boom.

Does Deere make their own mini's? I know for years that they basically used Hitachi for the full size excavators.

How dare you!;) Lol I'm looking forward to when Takeuchi come out with all of their 3xx series machines to replace the 200 series. Should add some of the fancy touches other manufacturers have put on em. I don't know if anyone that mad at their Takeuchi's performance though.
