Propane Conversion

Is it possible to convert all natural gas dryers to propane?

I would like to buy a natural gas dryer now, and later move it to my country property which only has propane. As far as I can tell through my Google research, I can't determine whether all gas dryers can be converted, or if only certain ones can be converted, or if the manufacturer has to approve the converter, or the manufacturer has to supply the converter, or what.

If you have a link to a product, that would also be appreciated.

Sure is. I don't have any specifics for you but most manufacturers will have a propane conversion kit. It's basically jets. Your gas company may also be able to help. We have a Kenmore dryer running just fine on propane /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

As mentioned they can be converted. Some locations may have regulations in place for conversions.

A conversion kit normally consists of a pilot orifice, main burner orifice, and a blank plate to remove your regulator at the appliance since regulation with propane takes place at the tank itself.

You will need to find one for your spacific application.

All my gas appliances have/had instructions in the owners manual on how to convert for propane. Some are detailed, some just say "order kit #xxxxx".

Yep when you BUY the stove be sure to buy the conversion kit at the same time, and in SOME cases the kit should cme with the unit... if they say they can't or don't or it can not be then tell them they don't know their buts from a stove and go to a different store. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif
