Possible KX91

I have a chance to purchase either a 2005 KX91-3 with 1600 hours or a 2006 with 2000 hours. The machines are priced about the same.

I'm quite familiar with military tracked vehicles, but not familiar with the KX. Anyone know the main wear points and gotchas with the KX91? What is the easiest way to check the track wear and tension on it? Both have rubber tracks. Thanks

I would go with the 1600 hr, 400 more is alot more for the same price. Track should speak for themselves, if they look ripped and beat then think twice. Sprockets and what not have the same appearence issues. Good luck, great machines!

As long as no notable upgrades were made between the two model years and one doesn't show signs of abuse, choose lower hours.

Well, I purchased the 2005 with less hours, it actually has 1735 hours because the dealer was renting it some. The 2006 unit was out on a rental for the next week so I was not able to look at it.

I'll pick it up next weekend as the dealer is going to replace the bucket pins and bushings and check the machine over. It just had a service, so its in pretty decent shape. I'll post pictures next week.
