POLE BUILDING

Have you ever considered a steel framed building and save a few grand? That's what I did, so that I could use that savings to put a bathroom in mine. My building is steel framed but it has 20 year warranty's on rust and a 60 lb psf snow load. the Mexicans who put it up were running on that roof while building it. I took photos. I had an insulation supplier locally arrange the foam spray job. I used barns dot com for mine.

We made a little office building type of situation out of ours. 26 x 50 . We love it.

Gno,
I notice that the supplier did a horizontal spray instead of vertical. Is there a benefit for this, or is this just their technique? I have only seen it sprayed vertically is why I am asking.

Thanks.

That's a good question, I'm not too sure why he'd done it like that. I think he felt it would work best with our framing arrangement.

Correction, the image I posted with the insulation was from another building we purchased. That building was much smaller, and the sheet metal ran horizontally. They did spray the foam in our office building vertically. My mistake, my images aren't in any order and nowadays the office building has dry wall in it with a drop ceiling, so I thought they matched.

Gno242, What was the cost of the foam spraying?

I just heard on another forum, one familiar building builder won't warrenty a roof if it is sprayed on foam directly to the underside of the tin, says the foam will rust the roof through. First time I heard of that, but a few others agreed. Anyone here know anything?

SOS or others are there concerns using metal siding and the possible damage to it if you let something get away from you and drop against the side? I was planning to use metal but not considering using 4x8 wood siding and maintenance gets to be too much of a pain then place metal over the wood. this would be less expensive to get into and if I added metal later the wood siding would protect the metal from damage from stuff that may hit it from the inside. I wonder if there are issues with metal rusting because it would be against the wood siding....

Samandothers, I'm not sure on the steel against wood question. I am getting the bubble mosture barrier on the roof to keep condensation from building up and dripping down on any electical tools.
I looked at hardie board on the sides and it was about $1,100 more on my 24x40 building which pushed me over my spending limit. So what I plan on doing is adding 2x6s on the inside wall's where I have a potential for hitting it or knocking something into it (ie. the wood chipper or pulling the tractor in to far. Something like showen on the the attached picture.
