I had been looking at Kioti tractor's, and recently got a qoute from for a 40DKSE tractor. If Kioti is getting rid of such a high profile dealer, maybe I should buy something else. If I am buying an expensive machine, I want to see stability from the manufacturer. I don't want to end up with an orphan.

I don't think Kioti is going away any time soon. I am sure you will be well looked after by Michigan Iron.

It's unfortunate to hear of Wallace tractor & Kioti's dissolvement. It's clear from Rick's support on TBN and the number of happy customers that his dealership is of top caliber. Making ALL of your customers HAPPY customers is no easy task! Some of us are pretty unreasonable at times:laughing:

That said, to those who are concerned about the future of your Kioti tractors-keep in mind that your tractor is just as well built today as it was last week, before Wallace & Kioti severed their relationship. There are other high caliber dealers out there who are happy to support your past and future Kioti products. It's only to our advantage on TBN to support these quality dealerships and share our positive experiences.

My dealer is Michigan Iron & Equipment located in central Michigan. The owner (Bob) and his son (Tony) are both degreed engineers who are extremely familiar with the Kioti lineup of tractors. Bob's wife Denise is as friendly on the phone as you will find anywhere. They also build custom attachments for fair prices. They go above and beyond the sale to make sure you are happy with your purchase. On more than one occasion they have loaded up their truck and made the one-hour trip (each way) to my home to address an issue or just concern about my tractor after I made a call. They were once in my garage working until 9:00pm so that my plans to use my tractor the following weekend weren't impacted!

So long as Michigan Iron & Equipment and the other quality Kioti dealers are still out there I don't plan to baby my tractor!
Josh, you are correct.I have had GREAT dealings with service & sales with Michigan iron & equipment.I am also very sorry to hear that wallace will no longer be caring Kioti products.IMHO Wallace and Michigan Iron were the core group for Kioti products and service.coobie

I'm sure there are plenty of good Kioti dealers out there. I have spoken to MIE before and they are top notch, helpful and friendly. Rick and Mrs. Tractor are also in this high caliber group. But we know not all dealers fit this mold. For some of us, working with Rick became like working or talking to a friend. Even if we never met face to face. It's hard to lose someone that you trust. Now this same relationship and trust will have to be created with another dealer and hopefully none of us will have to learn the hard way.

Are you basicly saying that Kioti has very good reasons for droping a dealer who has put a lot of time and effort into establishing his dealership and promoting the Kioti product?

Rick did not say that he was dropped by KIOTI. I think that has been assumed by several posters here, but it is very possible that it was Rick's decision. Kioti's policies toward thier dealers is... well, lets just say, challenging. Nevertheless the product line is one of the best out there. Rick is fortunate that he had other quality lines and I expect he weighed his options and simply made the decision that Kioti no longer fit his dealerships long term plan. As a multi line dealer myself, there is overlap between lines and differnt companies. It costs more to do the job right for several lines. Also different companies have different cultures, there are personalities involved etc. Although I have met Rick, I don't know him personally and I want to be clear that I am not speaking for him here. I do think there have been some assumptions made that may or may not be true and attitudes toward a company are being formed based on those assumptions. This could be a little damaging to those of us who remain committed to the KIOTI brand as well as the brand itself. Every major manufacturer has lost quality dealers in the last few years and every quality manufacturer has lost good dealers and the reasons are widely varied.

Sorry to hear of this Rick. Thanks for selling me the Kioti Filter kit which was just delivered Friday! Whew!!

This turn of events must have been fall-out from Kioti's Annual Dealer Convention last month. Big company policy is what it is-and often it comes down to: "Like it or lump it". Good luck and thanks for the excellent service and phone support you two!

Please keep posting in the Kioti threads-OK?

During a Kubota or Kioti discussion on TBN a few weeks ago, I stated that if there is ANY Kioti dealer in America that is not P...ed off at Kioti, it is just because Kioti has not gotten around to P...ing them off YET. Well.... I guess Kioti got around to Wallace. I have 2 Bota's and 1 Kioti, Quality wise what I have seen of Kioti, they are fine tractors. BUT most snowmen last longer then most Kioti dealers.

Did something similar to this situation, happen with O'bryan Sales in Owensboro, Ky several years ago? I heard at that particular time, they were one of the biggest, if not the biggest Kioti USA dealer. O'Bryan is still going strong without Kioti and I am sure Wallace will as well. Ken Sweet

This really makes me worry about my dealer, Mountain Motor Sports in southwest VA. It's a small dealership. I suppose they sell 4-5 tractors a month, maybe. Since the recession, they probably sell less. If they lost their franchise, I don't know where I'd go for service if I needed it. The next nearest Kioti dealer is probably about 100 miles away.

Although spring is here, it's starting to feel mighty cold...

Rick,
Sorry to hear you will no longer be dealing Kioti's line of tractors.:(
Maybe you could ease everyone's mind and put things straight by saying whether you dropped their line or they dropped you- or if it was a mutual decision based on various factors?
It sure would help quell rumors as to what is going on.
Or maybe Kioti invoked a: if we ask you can't say clause?

Any useful info would be appreciated.
Thanks. Good luck in your continuing endeavors in the business.

What a shocker! I just got back from overseas and had not been following the Kioti threads except to watch plans for Rick's annual picnic. Today I read that Rick and Amy are no longer Kioti dealers. Wow.

I'm still stunned but I suppose the good news is that for whatever reason Wallace Tractor will no longer carry Kioti at least they are still in business. I wish them the best. And, let's not forget that largely as a result of Rick's model and active participation on this forum, there are now some other fine Kioti dealers who have chosen to be active as well. I think it is fair to say that Rick's enthusiasm and support of his customers (and anyone else) who had questions about Kioti's has done a LOT to contribute to the success of this forum. Their legacy is established without a doubt. Still, the loss of Rick and Amy as core members of the Kioti community is a big loss. Sad day.:(

Rick and Amy:

Best Wishes for continued success with the Wallace Dealership. And a very heartfelt Thank You for all of your posts, replies, tips and suggestions to All of us in the Kioti community. Your willingness to jump in with support for our tractor issues, wether or not we purchased from you or a different dealership, was most appreciated.

I'm sorry to hear that you will no longer carry the Kioti line, but very glad to hear that your dealership will carry on. A big loss for Kioti.

Don't forget about us here..... Drop by once in a while to say Hi, and give us an update on the Wallace Family and Dealership.

Thanks again, and Good Luck to You.

Sorry to hear that Rick I always saw you helping not only your customers but anybodys before, during and after the sale This really is a just a huge lost for Kioti They do not know the kind of person/dealer they lost with you. Another case of the Blind eye of Big Business.

Dang Rick,
Sorry to hear that, I know your really beleived in the Kioti product.
I guess Kioti allowing Bobcat to dump tractors at cost (or below cost) put a hurting on a lot of Kioti dealers.

Nick

Below does not even begin to describe those deals last year from BobCat

Hey Corporate KIOTI read this: YOU JUST LOST ANOTHER SALE!

I am in Southeast Georgia and I was getting ready to purchase a Kioti LK30 loader/ backhoe. But I decided to do just a little more research before purchasing. My research has led me to believe that my tractor purchase will now NOT be KIOTI.

After reading the posts on this forum and talking to my local dealer I have come to the conclusion that Kioti is a dying breed in America.

I guess it will be Ford / New Holland or John Deere for me. I have even been hearing from a lot of unsatisfied Kubota owners lately what gives?

I would be interested in what your local Kioti dealer said, as we were also a Kioti dealer until recently? Ken Sweet

Kioti deleted my question on facebook and their support person Jason Pipkin (877-gokioti) has yet to return my call. When I bought my tractor I had 3 local dealers to choose from and it only cost me $50 for pickup and delivery of my tractor. Now my "local" dealer is over 1 hour away and charges me $150, and has a significantly higher shop rate ($75 per hour versus $50). With so many dealers no longer carrying Kioti they owe their customers an explanation. I bought it because of a dealer network and a great warranty. So much for that

I was reading on the FarmTrac thread that the dealers were having an issue with FarmTrac, and now also Montana of somehow transfering the corporation debt onto the dealers. Some of the dealers were resistance to this, and were dropping Montana. Wonder if this is how Kioti is losing dealers. The company tells them how many tractors it will asign them to sell. If you can't sell them all, then they are yours to keep. Oh yea, you also owe us for them. Just a thought.... Wallace is by far the best Kioti dealer I have read about. He always offered help to those who had become frustrated with another dealer who had sold them the Kioti. If Kioti has run off such a great dealer, then what can you do except look at another brand of tractor, which will have dealer support if needed.
