OK, im new to the forum and tillers in general. Me and my father installed a new (knockoff) engine. It runs great and the tires go foward, but the tines are turning in the foward direction which is backward right? Is there something I done wrong or what? I just dont see why the tires are going foward but the tines aren't. Please help me.

Stangman Welcome to the Forums. and TBN
And It would help if knowing the type and brand of the Roto Tiller.
I recently exchanged the engine to a rear tine Montgomery Wards tiller and the orginal engine a Briggs had the second shaft that ran the wheels. I installed a Honda with out the 2nd shaft and added a pully to cross the belt to drive wheels the correct direction it works.
There is a large number of members from Ark.Guess all busy getting the garden taking care of.

O im sorry, It is a troy-bilt. From the pictures im guessing it's "the horse." It has the foward and reverse selector and high and low for the wheels. It only has the one pulley on the engine and the one on the trans.

This one runs reverse. Is yours like this:

The tines are running same as the wheels. When I put them on the ground, the machine took off. I thought they were supposed to run backwards of the wheels to dig down?

Are you tilling in low and not in rock-hard ground? Notice in the top video (0.15) after he raises the depth limiter, he hits a rock or hard spot and the tiller jumps ahead. The depth limiter should be set for shallower tilling if it is jumping ahead.

Troy Bilt Bronco 6HP CRT Rear Tine 14" Tiller 21C-64M-1066
This model here the tines run in reverse of the wheels. C Counter R rotating T tines. Sounds like you are good to go.

The tines are supposed to turn forward. I am sure of it. I left mine in neutral one time and engaged the tines and it took me for a ride. Do not want to do that again.:laughing::laughing: Felt like a rag in the wind.
