Tractor
Kioti CX2510
I don't know quite where to begin, so I guess I'll just start at the beginning and try to keep this as short as possible. It's still going to be long, though.

I bought this Kioti CX2510H new in July 2025. I had always run Deere, but sadly, my little 2006 model 2210 finally went down and at a bad time, and repairs were going to be pricey. I knew the day was coming, so I had already been researching for a while what would make a good replacement that wouldn't break the bank.

This Kioti seemed to fit the bill. Not a lot bigger than the 2210, a little more hp, and good lifting power on the loader and the 3-point. Everything I found indicated that it was a good little tractor. Quite powerful for it's HP size and given it's a heavy tractor. Reliable and didn't seem to have many issues, especially right off the bat.

I had to have a new tractor as quickly as possible, but my local Kioti dealer did not have a CX2510H in stock, would have to order one, several weeks out. I called the next nearest dealer, 80 miles away. He had several of the tractors in stock. So I went, looked it over good and purchased one. He offered free delivery, so I asked to have a 3rd function valve installed and to fluid put in the rear tires.

Problem #1.
They did not have the valve in stock. They had to order it from some place in TX. It took them almost a week to install it after they got it!

Problem #2!
BECAUSE they Do Not have a full time service person. Something I didn't know at the beginning. Come to find out the salesman we dealt with also works as a service person and the man who delivers for them had actually had to help work on his own tractor. They had not installed a 3rd function valve before so they put it on with the instructions that came with the kit!
They were even under the impression that the 2 buttons on the new loader knob were On and Off.

#3!
Within just a few days and with very little use, it became very obviously that something was wrong. The tractor was very sluggish and underpowered. It could only be used in high on totally flat ground and then only to just drive. Even if you just tried to adjust your bucket height while driving in high on flat ground, it would bog down and and almost stop. It could not even go up the slightest incline in high without stalling.
Then I noticed a hydraulic leak. Not good, especially on a machine with only about 5 hours on it.

Called the dealer about the leak and also about lack of power and expressed concern that maybe there was something possibly wrong with the 3rd function valve hook up that was robbing power from the hydraulics.

Dealer seemed very concerned and said he would send someone to get tractor immediately.
They got tractor the next morning and that was the last we saw of it for a week. When they brought it back the leak was fixed. They had put a short length of hydraulic hose on to the 3rd function valve. Not sure why and they couldn't really explain other than it would keep it from robbing power if it accidentally got turned on with no implement hooked up.

Along with the returned tractor was a bill for OVER $400! Payment was expected to be sent back with the delivery driver.

The leak was fixed under warranty. Less than $100 was for the 3rd function "fix". The remaining $300+ was for pickup and delivery! And that was supposed to be a discounted amount.

Now I fully understand that it's the customer's responsibility to get the tractor to the dealer for warrany repairs, even if that means having to pay a transport charge. But, in this instance, the dealer Did Not ASK me if I wanted him to come get the tractor, he simply informed me that he was coming to get it and didn't say a word about any transport charge. At that time, I thought this was great customer service since it was a brand new tractor and there was obviously something wrong.

Well, The leak was fixed, but nothing else was right. Tractor was still underpowered and sluggish. Found out when my daughter and son-in-law (who is a heavy diesel mechanic at a big rock quarry) came in for Christmas, that the 3rd function valve "fix" was nothing but a placebo. He laughed his head off, said it was totally useless, and told me to just take it off, which I did.

I've continued to use tractor as gently as possible, but it has continued to be weak and has actually seemed to get weaker. It now will not hardly pull a 5' landscape rake up a slight incline in low with very little debris in the rake. If it gets much of a load under the rake it will bog down to almost a stop.

AND NOW to top it all off.....
The 4wd now WILL NOT stay engaged. It will disengage itself within just a few feet of engaging it and it doesn't matter if you're on a hill or on flat ground. The 4wd is vital to me. "Hills of TN" translates into 4wd required.

Ok, there's the story.
The tractor has 24 hours on it and is basically a big orange useless thing just taking up space in my shed.

I tried to get in touch with Kioti via their website. Useless. Finally found a phone number they would answer and the guy was borderline rude, said there was nothing they could or would do, and that I would have to get it to a dealer or basically just shut up and be stuck with it.

I talked to my local Kioti dealer about doing the warranty work on it. He was very nice, but said that at this time, he couldn't (not wouldn't) help me. Due to a death in the family he was down to a 2 man operation (with him being the only service technician) and was so far backlogged he had quit taking any more work.

Does anyone have any answers to these issues? I'm just about desperate...I need my tractor!

Thanks so much

You need to find a dealer that will do the warranty work. Widen your search pattern. What part of TN are you in?

Also, what valve did they install(pictures) and how did you delete it? I suspect that has something to do with your "no power" situation.

Does Kioti have a Regional company representative like most companies? Try to locate and contact this person.
This is the approach I would take next. I had to do it with my TYM and I believe it's the only thing that got my situation moving. I got the rep's email from a dealer and contacted him first that way. My regional rep was an excellent guy, gave me his phone # and actually answers it.

You need to contact Kioti directly. If they are anything like Kubota, they require their dealers to have certain standards. Not some podunk dealer owner who picks and chooses what type of warranty work they want to do.

I finally found a phone number Kioti would answer, after getting nowhere with their email & contact form. The guy was borderline hateful. When I asked about any kind of field or regional rep, I was told that I would have to deal with a dealer, that Kioti and it's reps did not deal directly with the consumer.

I would just be cool with your local dealer and ask him if he knows of an area rep you could contact or any way you could work your way up the chain. There has to be a way. Tell him you're not looking to badmouth anyone or anything, you're just trying to get your issues fixed. When I went this route, it was actually a dealer a few hours away that reluctantly gave me my rep's email. This guy was busy, but he didn't mind me reaching out to him at all.

I would say that most tractors of that size are in the same boat as far as 3rd range. The 3 HST tractors I've owned, 24hp, 29hp and 35hp, were all the same in 3rd range. Flat land transport only. I don't like that though, wish it were different.

I installed my own 3rd function on my dk45. I only followed the WR LONG instructions and it was pretty straight forward. You could get the instructions for your 3rd function kit and check if yours was installed properly. You cant just remove it without reinstalling the old circuit for hydraulic flow. I installed a rocker switch to kill the 3rd function when not in use as joy stick buttons were accidentally hit too often.

Im sure the plumbing of hydraulic hoses is the issue.

My '99 JD 790 has a rear hydraulic line that must be connected to loop the hydraulics back when the backhoe isn't attached.

First, any dealer selling a brand can do warranty work w/o purchasing from said dealer. Try to establish at least some commerce with your nearest dealer perhaps buying implements or maintenance items for future business foundation.
A dealer’s customer base will get priority.
Secondly, is there any definitive proof that the 3rd function valve is the problem as to the tractors sluggishness? Could be an entirely unrelated problem which is covered under warranty.

We charge for delivery and and we are upfront about delivery fees. There is no such thing as “free delivery”. The appearance may be so but believe me, paying for fuel for the truck, the driver and wear and tear, ,, the cost is somewhere.
Going any amount of miles let alone 80, has expense involved.
Here’s what I would do being in the business.
If we screwed up an installation, that’s on us . Your dealer seems to be a newbie with this type of install so I would not trust him to do it correctly.
Look up the valve manufacturer and get the schematic first and see if something obvious sticks out. If so, fix it yourself or get neighborly help.
Alternatively, contact your dealer once more and state there is a lack of power w your tractor. Do not infer anything about the 3rd function. Politely Ask to be provided a demo while he comes to pick yours up. At least you’ll have a tractor while working on yours. This is something we would do even w/o being asked and is why we’ve been around since 1976.
Pick up for warranty work is not something we charge for and your dealer can do the same.
There is a way out of this with ppl being reasonable and forthright.

None of my tractors are worth a darn in high gear if you want to do tractor chores.
High gear is pretty much for road travel, and may well bog down on hills.

Medium gear is where my machines do most of the work, with occasional low gear for the odd stump pulling or similar chores

I don’t dispute you need some dealer help to work your way through this, and I’m confident you will, just my 2 cents worth on the usefulness of high gear in a compact tractor

This is the tractor the day it was delivered. You can see the 3rd function valve on the right side with the blue caps.

This is the tractor after it was returned to me with "the fix".
I have removed it and it looked as it did when I received it

Ok, the hose they installed is not a problem. It prevents bogging down hydraulic system if button on joystick is accidentally pushed with no attachment hooked up.

I installed a switch to shut down 3rd function system when nothing is attached.

I use a jumper hose like this on my rear hydraulic hook up that works on the detent system so i dont accidentally deadhead the system.

I think the 3rd function is not hooked up properly.
