Jerry, that function does not exist, but there is a similar function. Simply to to the Quick Links drop down menu. Select the first option under it (Today's Posts) and you will see the posts in chronological order with the newest posts at the top of the page.

The old forum we were using wasn't doing that originally. But once we get through some of the other bugs, we'll be implementing this again.

You forgot to add "if possible" ...

It might have to be in a standard thread display mode (which is what I always wanted, but was impossible in the past).

Muhammad and Ibrahim. The "Today" will work, but it would be nice if you could get it to work the other way when you have time. I know that you guys will have your plate full for a while. At least I was able to put my avatar back as well as my signature picture back on. It is really strange now, but I am sure we will all get used to it in a while. Thanks

BTW, is there a reason that we can't paste text into this block? I use MS word for spell checking and then paste here. But it doesn't paste.

Hmm, I'm not having any problems pasting things in. Are you using the standard or advanced post editor?

I'm pretty sure we will be making the past 12/24/48 pages the same as they were.

I just tried to attach a pic to a message, using the attachment manager, and the 'upload from URL' option. I put int he url from where the pic ( 17k ) jpg format ) was hosted, and got an upload error.

I have posted thos pics on other sites using url links.. etc..

I've used other forums with this software and it really is quite nice once the bugs get worked out. However, it has always bothered me that there is no way to return to the previous level by clicking a link on the bottom of the page. This was one of the things I really liked about TBN.

Example -- After scrolling down to the bottom of the thread and reading the last post, you used to be able to click "Return to Index" (or something similar) to return to the next level up (list of threads).

Other than that, looks like you guys are spending some huge time here cleaning things up a bit. I must say, I admire your hard work. It's not an easy job to please everyone!

There is a 'chain' at the top and you can jump back to the forum from there.

Did you notice the "New Posts" link? It works just like the old 12 or 24 hour view, but goes all the way back, along with some other nice features. There is only one link per thread, showing the latest post, but you can see all the new ones for that thread by clickiing on the down arrow to the left.

Also... I just noticed that over in the vintage tractors section.. There are a ton of threads marked as 'new' with reply. I went there earlier today and they were not new... I checked them just now anyway, and the dates of the last posts are from the 12'th and so on... weird..

Gosh.. this reminds me of the days of the old dial in bulletin boards. i ran a multi-node system from the late 80's .. and kept at it untill just recently when i dropped down to a single node... I can remember every few years changing software.... what a bear... all nighters.. and pulling hair out!!

Also.. I'm sure this has been covered and my tired eyes missed it.. I'm seeing lots of threads with duplicate posts. If this is something I've got set wrong in my USER CP.. someone set me straight.. otherwise I'm going to chalk this up to an issue that the admins are already working on.. etc

Every PM I have ever sent or received is back (including the ones I've deleted over the years) and each one appears both in my inbox and my sent folder... Not a big deal- I'm just going to go through them and delete all of the ones I don't need the next time we have a rainy day.


By the way, are the time limits to edit a post still the same? (12 hours?)

Also, I've been putting my threads in hybrid mode-- It lists the threads in one long unthread list, but it also shows at the top who each post was replied to. Seems to work well for me.

I found that in kubota buying forum. Threads marked new that had no new posts and threads with new posts at the end but pushing the "new posts" botton brought me to the beginning not the end.

I was one whose password was not accepted so I had to get a new one and reconfigure my profile. I wonder if that's related?

Is there something that I need to enable to get the view new posts arrow thingy working? When I click on it it is taking me to the top of pages I've already read. If I hit the back button and click on it again, it will take me to the top of the next page, but like I said, these are pages I've already read, such as the ones in this thread.

Just yesterday, after the forum change. I have been following this thread, but have never gotten back to the spot I left off using the arrow button next to the thread name. It seems to randomly take me to the tops of different pages within the thread.... except this time when I left the window open and hit refresh.

I know it's a little strange to reply to yourself but I wanted to let you know that it appears my issue may have been "operator error" Still learning the new software! Hopefully this post will re-establish my profile picture which has been missing since the new upgrade.

Overall I think I'm really going to like this upgrade, there seems to be a lot of features available.
